Who's Helping/Hurting Their Draft Stock?
Yep David Lighty, idk wy everyone has been sleeping on him. He reminds me a bit of Matt Barnes. Good 3 point range, and tough defender. Might not be the same kind of pest as Barnes but he plays good defense, sticks long range jumpers, and has a bit of athletisism. Id like to see the Bulls pick him up.
Something must have clicked for him after the WI game. He's been shooting absolutely lights-out since. There'll be a place for him in the NBA- some team that needs a guy that can just jack threes will be happy to have him.
tristan thompson has proved that he can defend with anybody in the country. They way he has defended players like Derek Williams and Keith Benson should definately raise his draft stock.

It wasnt proven in a big game setting, especially after he fouled out in the Kansas vs Texas game against the Morris twins.
Helping Stock:
Jimmer Fredette
Kemba Walker
Morris twins
Chris Singleton
David Lighty
Tristian Thompson
Harrison Barnes
Derrick Williams
*Jon Diebler is impressive...still not enough to get drafted though.
Hurting Stock:
Keith Benson
Corey Fisher
Kyle Singler he went from potential player of the year to third best player on his team and second team acc behind harrison barnes he just hasn't produced like he did last year I think he ends up slipping to wsecond round ala chase budinger but I'm in no way comparing them because Budinger is way better athlete and player in my opinion.
I could say obvious choices like the morris twins, walker, barnes, smith, jimmer, williams, etc.. but ill give some choices that could be argued for really helping their stock.
1. Matt Howard- He's playing at a very high level, 2 game winning shots, showing that he can rebound, legit range on his jumper and a leader.
2. Derwin Kitchen- A lockdown defender, leader, can hit shots when needed and has good size at the point. I think he's really underrated.
3. Patric Young- He's having a nice tournament and will impress more scouts if Florida can keep goin in the tournament.
4. Brandon Knight- Having a season KINDA like D Rose did. D Rose had a good not great regular season. Then he started playing at a total different level when the tournament started and that really elevated his stock, Knight is doing the same thing. Though Rose did have a way better regular and post season.

Chris Singleton??? You think those 7 fouls and 5 points in 26 minutes over two games is positively changing opinions?

Patric Young hasn't showed any more offensive skills and still cannot avoid committing fouls.
Knight's season is nothing like that of Rose. The reason Rose had a very average statistical season at Memphis was that the Tigers were blowing teams out, even the good teams. He was the good freshman teammate who didn't push the issue when it didn't need to be pushed. The tournament came around, it is a one-and-out situation, and he made sure that team wasn't going to underachieve. Knight's team has been very up-and-down. He has been up-and-down, and he had a lousy game against Princeton.
Not saying Young is a lotto pick.. saying his stock is rising. When a freshman coming off the bench averages 7 pts and 5 rbs and a block per game in the tourney that isnt that bad.
And actually Rose had a pretty good statistical season.. good enough to get him 3rd team all american honors, he averaged 15 pts 5 and 5 a game. His jumper was not solid and he averaged 15.. thats pretty good. Knight has game theres a reason why he was a top 5 recruit but only showed sparks of it in the regular season. He absolutely stepped up his game in the wv game.
He isn't hurting his stock, but there hasn't been any change in his level of play of late. I think he has the potential to be great, but he is not going to grow significantly as a playmaker at this point in the season.
Actually, one guy who continues to grow on me is DeAndre Liggins. It is not news that he is a great defender, but he has grown offensively during this year where there might be enough functionality so that he can be a defensive specialist in the NBA. I know it doesn't sound right, but a guy still has to be decent enough offensively in order to be a defensive stopper.
From what ive read his stock has gone up( starting at midseason) but nothing in the tournament has changed it as far as going up or Down. He hasnt really shown anything new
I wonder if John Henson showing he might not have a brain hurt his draft stock...

So into the Second (NOT the third...I don't buy into that crap, haha) round of the tourney, who's helped themselves, and who's hurt themselves in terms of draft stock?
Helped:
Shelvin Mack. Ignoring his last foul in the Pitt game (the whole ending of that Pitt game was ridiculous, not too sure what to think of it), he's played like a madman thus far. He's shooting lights-out, and looking more like the Chauncey Billups type some thought he'd be.
Kenneth Faried: I think he may have played himself into the late first round. I kinda buy the "next Dennis Rodman" hype- he's a beast on D, and he brings so much energy and hustle. Some contending team is going to be very lucky to have him- he'll have a role in the NBA for years.
Jacob Pullen: Even though they lost to WI, he went on a tear to end the season. That may help him get into the 2nd round, rather than go undrafted.
Hurt:
Tu Holloway: He didn't have a great game against Marquette. I wasn't sure he was going to come out or not this year, but I bet he stays another year to try and get further into the tourney next year.
Scotty Hopson: Tobias Harris was the only one who showed up to play against Michigan. Hopson, arguably their most talented player, played like crap. While he did decently in the regular season, I don't know if he's going pro or not; his tourney play this year certainly didn't help him.
Kalin Lucas/Durrell Summers: These two seniors on Michigan St., preseason #2, went out with a thud. These guys will find jobs playing in Europe though.
Anyone else you can think of? I know my list isn't exhaustive, or even good, but it's just my observations thus far in the tourney.
