Who Will be the Biggest Impact Next Season for Orlando- Harkless,Harris or Vucevic ?

When the Dwight Howard trade was made, alot of people ridiculed the franchise becuz it appeared as though they had gotten the worst end of the deal..The Lakers,76'ers and Nuggets each received All Stars and the Magic got 3 unprovened young players...But now it looks like the Magic have gotten the better end of that trade......Howard & Andre Iguodala spent only 1 season with their teams and Andrew Bynum never suited up for Philly......Fans in Orlando loved what they saw in Vucevic,Harris and Harkless toward the end of last season......

1.Moe Harkless- Highly skilled, versatile & athletic, Harkless has the potential to be a very good player..Some have compared him to a young Rudy Gay.......Harkless spent time at both forward spots and shooting guard last season...Harkless has the potential to become a very good defender....

Averaged 8 pts/4rbs
He had at least 1 steal in 50 games
Blocked 2 more shots in 16 games...
Scored in double figures in 25 of his last 30 games...
_

2.Tobias Harris-Can play either forward position well..Displaying a nice mid-range game,an explosive 1st step, quickess to get to the rim and the ability to create off the dribble...He averaged 17pts/8rbs/2assts and shot 45% in 27 games for the Magic.....

_

3.Nik Vucevic- The 6'10 240 lbs Vucevic was a pleasant surprise last season ,averaging 13 pts.11.9 rbs..He is a willing passer, can hit the 10 footer and rebound.. He had 46 double double last season, good for 3rd in the league.....If he becomes a little more aggressive on both ends and a better shot blocker, he could place himself among the 10 best centers in the league...
_

Combine those guys with a top 5 pick next season and a promising player in Victor Oladipo, the Magic could be back in the playoffs in 2014 or 15.......

I think the key to the team to well these young players progress and develope will depend on where coach Vaughn uses Harris .....While Harris does play both forward position well,he plays the same spot as Glen Davis and Andrew Nickelson...

Harris best position is small forward and Harkless best position might also be at small forward..But word came a few days ago that they will be shifting him to shooting guard.....While he is skilled,to me he isnt a very good ball handler or shooter..Thats why i feel Vaughn will have his work cut out for him,in finding the best positions for these young guys to succeed....

Harris and Vucevic will post good numbers next season and i expect them to have the better season..But In the long run Harkless might turn out to be the best player out of the 3 of them......

I think they have to keep

I think they have to keep Harris at the 4. Most teams are running small, so his size won't be a problem, especially since he is strong as an ox. He can take bigger forwards to the wing, and he can post up the smaller one.

I think Harkless is definitely better suited to playing the 3. He's not a strong ball handler or shooter yet. If Oladipo is running the one, they're going to need a strong shooter and ball handler in the backcourt with him.

I think you'll see similar production from both Harris and Vucevic this season. I think Harkless might see a little bump in his stats, but he's going to shine the most on defense.

Oladipo is an x-factor because they seem content with him running the 1 when he should be their 2 guard.

If they miss out on the Wiggins sweepstakes, I say they take a point guard in the draft.

Nice post. I am a big fan of

Nice post. I am a big fan of all the guys you mentioned. I think Harkless is a much better defender than Harris and will find his way on the court due to his defense. Harris is more offensively talented and will get his minutes as well at the 3/4.

My concern is the Magic playing Glen Davis and Aaron Afflalo too much to take away from the development of Harris and Harkless. Hopefully those guy are out of town so the Magic can develop their core.

I am a big fan of Orlando's

I am a big fan of Orlando's young players, but of the three you described, I think Vucevic will make the biggest impact moving forward. He is already a phenomenal rebounder and his mid-range game is fantastic. He just needs to work on his post game and interior scoring and he could be a pretty nice player, maybe ending up as Marc Gasol-lite on the offensive end of the floor. Plus, his status as a true center should allow minutes to come easy for him despite all the young forwards on the Magic.

to be quite honest, impact is

to be quite honest, impact is a tough spot to judge based on next year, considering the fact i think orlando is in the wiggins sweepstakes. long term, i have to say harkless without a doubt. just next year, i have to go vucevic because he's there only trust worthy giant. if he gets in foul trouble, then what? if he gets hurt, then what? glen davis certainly isn't the answer. if tobias and harkless play similar enough roles to where they can impact the game in similar fashion. long term is the opposite however. i trust vucevic the least of the 3 players over say a 3-5 year span. i actually like afflalo there. i think he could be a great mentor for any wings on the team whether he gets minutes or not.

For next season it's going to

For next season it's going to be Harkless. I don't think the Magic will have too much trouble scoring against teams, but stopping other teams from scoring instead. That's where Harkless comes in. As I've mentioned in other threads, I think Olidipo and Harkless are going to create one of the toughest back courts in the NBA. I think it's imperative to the Magic's future success for them to create some kind of defensive identity or attitude. Harkless can be the catalyst for that if he continues to play amazing defense. I LOVE Tobias, and think Vucevic will be good, but at the end of the day they still have work to do on the defensive end, and someones going to have to pick up the slack until they catch up.
