tiberiusParticipantI think that David Thompson was better than George McGinnis. George’s role was better defined because in no way was he a top talent on his team. He was like what Chris Bosh is to the heat meaning he was a really good player but he wasn’t really a super player that was individually better than David Thompson who was actually the player that Michael Jordan replicated. Both great players but David Thompson takes the cake if you ask me

tiberiusParticipantIs that even possible? If this happened with current nba players, it would be like Michael Beasley making the hall of fame because of his college run. I doubt it was because of an amazing college career that you would get enshrined into the hall of fame. In his prime in denver he’d give you a regular season stat sheet like Kobe Bryant’s today. 26, 5,4. That in itself is remarkable… Plus he was a terrific dunker ala dwyane wade. 6’4 with a big time vertical. George was just on a really good team, he had the pieces. He played a Bosh/Gasol role but he still had a hell of a team.

ENOGSIWONdedeRalph Sampson is a good example he did not do enough in the NBA. I think Christian Laettner will get in eventually, Beasley no he did not stay in college long enough or win any awards or titles.

ENOGSIWONdedeTiberius: Bill Walton also would not of made it if not for college. Yes he did win league MVP but he only played a couple hundred games at a high level then a couple hundred as an average player after injuries

WotanParticipantBill Walton was the best player in the world at his peak, and led his team to a championship. That following year’s team was even better and had totally steam-rolled the entire league with a 50-10 start; well on it’s way to a second championship when Walton went down due to injury.
My point; his high level of play was as high as it gets.
