Well the knicks are obviously

Well the knicks are obviously not trading Amare. I would love NY to keep Randolph and Gallo no matter what trades they try to make, but I'm thinking when it comes time to acquiring Melo or CP3 they are going to lose Gallo. We have to remember that once the season starts and some of these young guys on NY's roster start getting playing time, things could change very quickly. Bill Walker, Douglas, Randolph, Gallo and Chandler are likely to see a real spike in minutes and production this season. Their trade value is likely to go up as a result. I would imagine Curry gets traded at some point and it will be interesting to see if he plays at all this season, let alone shows up in shape for the first time in a long while.

The Knicks might very well sit on Curry's contract for the time being and see if Melo or Parker (he is going to have a great year this year) resign with their respective teams. If they haven't resigned by the trade deadline then its quite possible NY just keeps the space to sign them in the offseason.

The sad part is NY will always be at a disadvantage to MIA's big three because Amare is eating up so much of their Cap space. You would have to believe that if Melo or CP3 show up they will want to be making the same amount as Amare is and it makes it that much harder to field an elite team. MIA will have their midlevel and Bi annual next offseason aswell to pick up a couple other key free agents. If NY is under the cap by more then the value of the Exceptions then they won't have that to work with either which further diminishes their chances of competing against the big boys.

If CP3 or Melo go to NY for another max type deal then I'd love to know what NY's plan is to obtain another elite level talent to rival MIA's big three? They just won't have the cap space. This is the main reason I'm all for NY keeping Gallo. He's still very young and has really shown that he can ball. He has the chance to turn into something special. Randolph is in the same boat. If NY gets Melo without giving up either of those 2 guys then they really have the makings of something special. If NY sells the farm... again, with a lack of draft picks and the ones they do have likely to be slightly out of the lottery its going to make it really hard to improve Even with a Melo or CP3 signing.

Melo has to know this so I'm thinking he plays out his contract, allows NY to keep its pieces and does what Lebron and Bosh did. He just looks for a sign and trade or signs outright with NY next offseason.

If I was the Hornets and I

If I was the Hornets and I really was looking to trade Paul I would not trade him unless I could pry away some serious young talent from another team. Like; Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, and next years unprotected 1st round draft pick for Chris Paul. I do not understand this rush to trade Paul, They have him for at least 2 more years, if things start to go south then trade him later in the year or wait until next year.

I am kinda thinking Paul will

I am kinda thinking Paul will not be trade anytime soon after that Collison trade. New Orleans will ride this out and draft a young point next year as insurance.

The Knicks would have to give up the farm for CP3

Randolph, Gallo, Chandler, and Curry to make it work financially, I wouldn't settle for anything less than that from the Knicks.

From Hornets Perspective

Gallo/Curry/Felton/Douglas a mix of those players will be involved. Since trading Collison, the Hornets need a PG, so Felton will have to be in this deal.

Thats too much to give up

Thats too much to give up maybe Felton/Chandler/Curry and a future 1st.
Gallo is either a keeper or used to get Mello.

My trade ideas

Felton,Turiaf and Buike/Chandler for Paul: This gives the Hornets a starting PG,a back-up big and a young wing to replace Stojakovic

Curry,Gallo and Chandler/Buike for Anthony: The Nuggets get capspace from Curry's contract, a young guy in Gallo and a starter at wing.

After this the Knciks would look like this:G Toney Douglas,G Roger Mason,G Chris Paul,G Andy Rautins,G Bill Walker,F Carmelo Anthony, F Anthony Randolph,F Amere'e Stoudamire, C Timofey Mozgov.
The Knicks would need at least 4 more players: Earl Barron,Joe Alexander, Devin Brown,Rodney Carney and Jarvis Hayes would be the guys that I would go for to round out the squad.
