Who is the face of the NBA?
#1... Best player by a good margin and his media coverage is ridiculous. So, LeBron, on and off the court.
ima say durant
its pretty obvious that its Lebron seeing as he has camera crews following him to the John....
kobe. Hes the guy who got the loudest cheers when they went to beijing and i would bet he would get the loudest cheers no matter what country they went to. Winning titles in the second biggest media market doesnt hurt either.
I don't think there's a hands down face of the league.
- Kobe isn't going away and neither are the Lakers who look like they could win one or two more.
- LeBron's "decision" didn't hurt the attention he's getting, but nobody likes him anymore. He hasn't been able to snatch it completely away from Kobe like Jordan did from Magic and Larry.
- Durant, and his hardworking, humble and good boy image, is on the come up.
I don't think Durant can really be the face of the league, because of the fact that he is so quiet. The NBA needs a player who is loud and loves the attention. Durant seems too humble for me. We LOVE controversy and media hogging players.
if i had to choose one, its durant but like tezo said, its hard to choose just one guy
durant is defenitely on the come up and might become it, but i seriousyl cant see calling him the face of the nba right now. Wade is not even the face of his own team. That leaves lebron and kobe. But the truth is, like indianabball said, there really isnt a single face to the nba or anyone who represents the nba.
there is two Kobe&LeBron enough said.
The sad thing is that it SHOULD be hands down LeBron's league right now.
I wouldn't sleep on Durant having a shot at becoming the face of the league. During an anti-LeBron attitude world right now, Durant is looking like gold. And Durant really introduced himself to the rest of the world in Turkey.
@ tongue out like 23
the humble, hardworking quiet guy can work both ways in the beginning when kevin durant was just a rookie/sophmore and wasnt on tv that much and people werent sure he was going to be a league leading scorer it definatly didnt work for us. On the other hand he kept his head down and worked hard to get to where he is today and now that we've seen what he can do the "quiet humble hardworking" works because not only has he shown it but a lot of people can relate and like those types of people. Also to be real i dunn know about you guys but after a while attention wh.ores (lebron james, Chris Bosh) kind of get annoying.
But let's be realistic, people love drama in the faces of leagues. Shaq was always a character and loved to talk trash when he was the face, then Kobe had the rape scandal and he basically kicked out Shaq and Phil out of L.A. and that made him the face. Now LeBron exploded into the scene and although he never had big scandals or fights, he was always willing to talk what he felt was right and spoke his mind. We were able to find out who they were because they opened up to us, something KD hasn't done yet. Then again, he is very very young.
Was that a real question? LeBron is the face of the NBA
Kobe is the old star still getting it done
Durant is the HOPE of the NBA
Wade is the businessman of the NBA
Lemme ask you a question;
When you shoot anything, anything at all: a paper ball, a basketball, a sock, do you yell LeBron?
Nah. Kobe is the face of the NBA.
LeBron is the Villain, and Durant is the goody-two shoes.
Everyone knows Kobe, people who don't even watch basketball at school yell Kobe when they shoot.
I guess I'm stuck in the past because I still say, "Jordan!"
When I shoot i yell PEJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone ever say Jordan?
I was like 9 when he retired so I didn't really see much of his prime. Haha.
I know people do the tongue thing at parks and whatnot when fooling around.
Did anyone ever say Jordan
I did. I used to say Jordan or MJ all the time.
I used to say T-Mac
When Jordan was in the league there were times that Rodman actually had more media coverage than he did, but Jordan was always the face of the NBA. Media coverage means you're controversial, not an icon. Championships coupled with individual greatness make you the face of the league.
I've said Jordan, Reggie and Kobe...
I used to say Iverson when I tried to cross someone though lol.
without a doubt its lebron & kobe..
kobe becuz he plays in la on the most glamorous team in the league..and lebron becuz he's the most talked about player right now..even people that dont follow basktball have heard about lebron & kobe..you cant say that about durant yet...
i think shaq still gets more publicity and is more recognized more than durant....
1.lebron 2.kobe.3shaq 4.wade
helping team usa win gold is helping to add to durant's resume....
Id say shaq.
wow... i dont belive this... nobody mentioned the white sensation with the chamionship ring... BRIAN SCALABRINE OF COURSE
