I have no clue and want to know what you guys think so I can build my big board off of that partially. Also if you were Giles would you return for another year or go now while you are healthy and have "potential"?

I think Giles and Ferguson are the two biggest question marks going into this draft….

Even if Giles was dominating right now, he’d be a big risk because of his injury history, however, he has shown that he’s not ready to be a good player at the college level yet, so I have him below Adebayo, Hartenstein, Williams, Isaac and Markannen, in the Ivan Rabb-John Collins-Tyler Lydon-Caleb Swanigan tier.

I would return, show that I can last a full season and play well against college players, he has a chance to be a top 10 or even top 5 pick if he really dominates.

The reality of it is he’ll most likely declare, especially from everything I’ve read about it.

But nevertheless, I mean what’s the risk of leaving compared to staying. Everything is contigent on him being healthy, so if he is, whether he’s in college or the NBA while showing flashes of dominance, I think he’d show enough to still make money in the 3rd Year option and hopefully beyond after his rookie deal. He’s still most likely going to be a first-rounder, somewhere between 15-30, so at the lowest he’ll range somewhere in $3.4 million to $2 million for his first two years. That’s most likely his worst case scenerio if he declares this year. And even if he’s a early second-rounder, he’ll probably make still make a good amount seeing what Deyonta Davis got last year, which was a full three-year guaranteed contract at $3.9. Now, I don’t know if they’d forced him into a medical check if he’s a second-rounder to sign him but I hedge and say he make basically somewhat of the same ranged he’d get as a first-rounder.

Now say he stays and the worst case scenerio is the game-changing athleticism is gone just as it seems like he’s look for this season. I can see him being undrafted in that scenerio and making nothing. And next draft, to me at least, seems deeper at the top and he’ll have to compete with Carter for minutes at his best college position, which is center, and Knox and Duval look like they’re going to Duke and they’ll be stealing touches too. The smart thing seems like he has to declare and hope for the best with his health.

Also, I got side tracked in answering your question but let’s just say big men and/or potential PFs, I’d have Isaac, Miles Bridges, Markkanen, Williams and Patton ahead of him and Zach Collins if he declares. He’s in the range of Hartenstein, Adebayo, and John Collins for me in the late teens/early twenties.

A lot of the talents at the PF or PF/C positions are guys we are almost sure should never become NBA starter because of their limitations, including some often ranked as high as top 20 like John Collins or Ivan Raab. My opinion is that because Giles truly has a chance of still having great upside, despite his current year and injury concerns he should be taken before these guys. End of lottery like where this site ranks him seems right. You can have arguments in favor of some other guys sure, so it’s about what you think of each guy, but if you don’t think the guy has 50+% chance of starting on his third season, just put Giles over him.

As far as names it’s hard to drop them because you are asking for PFs, and though I think Giles could definitely develop into one because of the shooting touch he showed in high shool et al., he seems a lot more like a C to me. At PF I think he should go behind Tatum, Isaac, Markannen and Bridges for sure, debatable with Leaf and Anunoby, though with Anunoby’s injruy more recent I’d say there’s not much of a debate anymore. At C, the talent level is low enough that you could put anybody below him imo.
