valentineDisclaimer: no-one expects you to win. Just score a few buckets.
Rules:
1) Any NBA player – past or present. And doesn’t have to be prime version of themselves. But it can be a prime version of yourself (If you are too old or young to play NBA)
1) Game of 1 on 1 – First to 11
2) Winner gets possession
3) Shoot from 3pt range to start
4) No rebounds. If you miss, possession automatically changes
5) Scoring in 1s. 3s are worth 2.
6) Its OK to exaggerate your ability…
I’m going to go first, and claim I could actually BEAT Satnam Singh. I’d hit a 3 before him to start. I doubt he’d extend his defense outside the key…and I think I could get some steals on the perimeter. I’m confident Id win 11-4
However if I played Kawhi Leonard…I’m not sure Id even get a decent shot off.
Who could you get buckets against?

Robb_CParticipantLamar Odom, I’d just have to sprinkle crack cocaine all over the court to keep him distracted.

Rip255Haha I got connections to Delly. I could make that happen.
Problem is you cant win. He’s already inside your head. He psyches out more players than anyone in the league. Just ask Al Horford and Taj Gibson.

TRC1991ParticipantRealistically, Muggsy Bogues, I’d just back him down and shoot over him. But he’d still win cuz he’s quick as fawk. I’d lose 11-5.

ZachAttackParticipantUhhh…. Muggsy Bogues. Me and him are about the same size. He’s quicker than me, but I think that I honestly have a better shot then him. I’d probably lose 11-8 or 11-9 though.

ExumInfernoParticipantChuck Nevitt
I don’t think he would be hitting a 3, and hitting the outside shot was what I would be doing. So I would start with the lead. 7-5, so he has a height advantage, but I think he would have turnovers. I don’t know if he ever scored 11 points in a game.
A current player, maybe Joel Anthony. I think he might struggle to score on the basketball court all by himself. He can defend though, so it may not be a fun game to watch. He eventually gets bored, I hit some outside shots, the game is over and everyone is happy they don’t have to watch it.
I am sure John Havlicek, at 75 years old, could defeat me in a game and defeat most of the people on the message board. Muggsy would beat us all, he’d get a lot of steals.

Andrew1984ParticipantBreak me off a piece of Ricky Rubio. He can’t score his way out of a paper bag, and with no teammates to create opportunities for, he’s useless.
Historically, I’d love a crack at ’06-’07 Eric Snow, as well as ’02-’03 Milt Palacio.

whiteflashParticipantActually I’ve "gotten buckets" on a bunch of NBA players, but the only one I’ve played in a 1-on-1 setting like that [it was 21 so there were a few people, but you get the point] is Head. Every other time has been in pick-up, Pro-Ams or workouts. I’ll say this though, the college 3 was like a layup to Head. Once he found his stroke if you gave him an inch of daylight it was nylon. Not real quick or athletic though.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI actually played against Chris Paul in a high school aau tournament and technically I did score on him. Overall I’d say he probably got the better of the matchup lol. This was before he was in the NBA though so I’m not sure if it counts.

myers3425ParticipantI’ve scored on 75% of the league but thats the 6’6 3pt shooting machine I created on NBA 2K. I’m going to go ahead and say the only person in the NBA I would’ve stood a chance at scoring againts would be Earl Boykins (I’m 6’4) and that might be pushing it these players even if they struggle in the NBA are amazing and if you don’t think so just watch youtube videos of the White Mamba school avg joes.

MopgrassParticipantMost anyone has a chance at scoring ONCE, maybe twice, if they have a respectable shot. I like Bill Hader’s approach in the movie Trainwreck. He scored on LeBron when he LBJ was distracted and then Hader quits basketball forever because that’s the pinnacle of what he can achieve in the sport. I’d do the same thing.
However, as I weigh about the same as LeBron, the only chance I’d have is to knock him over 1st (not sure I can actually do that) and, frankly, he might recover in time to block my shot.
