Where do the HEAT go from here?

First of all, congratulation to the HEAT on their big finals win, awesome series & team with the most talent won. BUT the season is now over, and Pat Riley has some moves that need to be made...

Now that they have won a 2nd consecutive title, I don't see him breaking up the BIG3. Outside of those guys, however, this roster needs work. I don't know if you've noticed, but they aren't an entirely young team. Miller/Battier/Anderson/Haslem/Allen are ALL great rotation players, but are also ALL well into their 30's. In a league that values playoff experience, I don't see why a couple of those guys can't be moved for a younger piece or two. Sure it hurts, because each guy played a key role on this team, but the HEAT need some young blood in their veins. Insert the 2nd round of the draft here...

One trend that has really started to gain steam in the NBA is signing young, athletic guys to fill your last couple roster spots, versus signing an OLD guy like J. Howard. I understand the logic behind signing veterans, but believe those guys are better served on a young playoff team (OKC, Grizzlies, Clippers...) The obvious flip side of that logic is, put young un-proven talent around proven winners (Ummm, hello San Antonio has done it with 3/4 of their team) Even if Pat Riley decides to stand "Pat" with his roster, they should really do their homework on impact 2nd rounders/CHEAP free agents. I am also very interested to see who they put on their summer league roster because, weather they like it or not, they need to start putting some talent on the bench behind the BIG3. Who are some players you think would fit into the HEAT rotation?

The Heat trade way Bosh for

The Heat trade way Bosh for an actual post player... Let Anderson go, didn't really do THAT much... Don't overpay for Chalmers, go for somebody cheaper, LeBron plays half the game at point guard... Sign some young blood... try and get a young 6th man, Allen won't be around much longer... Get a 7-footer... And there is your Miami Heat team 2013-14

Rio/Bosh

I was just talking about Rio earlier today. It's clear to me that Norris Cole is the future at PG for the HEAT, but he does need some seasoning. I don't really know what they are going to do with Chalmers, because I'm sure he will be looking for a big pay-day (starting PG for 2 straight rings) but I'm not quite sure he deserves the $$$. I've heard them float Greg Oden's name, which I actually like, but he's not the answer, he's a "potential" guy. I am VERY interested to see what happens with Bosh, he obviously had some big plays throughout the series, but that contract is putting cuffs on the organization. I honestly don't see them moving him (although I've read the bobcats are making a push with the #4 pick involved). Excited for draft day, really hoping they find there way into a couple 2nd rounders.

Miami Heat will dump Rashard

Miami Heat will dump Rashard Lewis, Juwan Howard, Mario Chalmers, because first two are old the second wants more money than he deserves... Re-sign Ray Allen, but don't give him a huge contract... Sign Greg Oden, maybe he can revive his career when there's no pressure on him at all... Here's the Heat 2013:

PG: Norris Cole Jose Calderon
SG: DWade Ray Allen Mike Miller
SF: LeBron Shane Battier
PF: Udonis Haslem Kenyon Martin
C: Chris Anderson Greg Oden Sam Dalembert

As I said, Bosh gets traded, presumably for future draft picks, because Miami has a lot of older players, and Bosh is worth a lot (in the right system)... Calderon is there to cover the PG spot while Cole develops... Dalembert is for extra D... Martin could help a lot... Getting size is important, because "small ball" was stupid. Miami faced a lot of teams with 2 big men and paid the price for it.
