What's His Name wants to sign with the Knicks

Metta World Peace or Ron Artest, whatever you want to call him now is wanting to play for the Knicks once he clears amnesty waivers today at 5pm. A few days ago he said he didn't want to play in the NBA but we all knew that wasn't going to last very long and was a ploy to discourage teams under the cap from bidding on him.

The Knicks certainly need some defensive toughness at the 3 spot since Shumpert is best served defending 1s and 2s. If signed I still don't think this takes the Knicks to the next level. I like salmon, peanut butter, ice cream, and grapes, but I don't put them all in a blender and expect them to mix well, that's kind of how I view the Knicks.

Nice analysis of the Knicks.

Nice analysis of the Knicks. I really don't think he can put them over the hump either but he adds toughness to this team and always wants to attract some kind of drama and as awkward as it seems he still is valuable in a well described role.

Everybody saw this coming. He

Everybody saw this coming. He is from NY and played at St Johns. The Knicks need help especially defensively. It makes sense but I doubt he will really help them that much. Adding Bargs to a frontcourt with Amare and Chandler means Melo will be forced to play more 3 which means a limited role for Artest. It also means Melo won't be as successful offensively. I look for the Knicks to regress this year and really doubt they will win 50 games or even get home court in the first round.

MWP is done, on offense last

MWP is done, on offense last year I was saying wft is this guy doing?I don't have words for the dumb things he did like trying to go coast to coast and then brick a layup. He couldn't hit wide open shots. Defense , he makes a big play once in a while, but he couldn't get back on defense any faster than the rest of the Lakers. He is a Vet Min player at this stage

I've heard Rumors the Knicks

I've heard Rumors the Knicks may bring back Nate Robinson if he doesn't find a multi-year or non vet min. contract.

Yeah Nate would be a nice

Yeah Nate would be a nice pickup too and some kind of vintage thing. I lost my green Kryptonate jersey 2 years ago on a rafting tour and life hasn't been the same since then.

He was a hero in New York and they once had this unreal big green Nike Nate banner hanging from a tower in NYC. Loved it!

I think he said he didn't

I think he said he didn't want to play in the NBA no more just in case some team doesn't sign him he can walk it off as if he just didn't want to play....

Ive never seen a player

Ive never seen a player regress offensively the way that Artest did when he went to the Lakers.

He went from a 20PPG scorer

He went from a 20PPG scorer to a player that can't even dribble the ball. What the hell happened to Ron Artest?

Done

Done deal

Instead of adding Bargnani and Ron, i really would have tried to add another quality PG to complement Felton. Felton was to inconsistent this past year.

same old knicks

I like Artest, but lets face it, the knicks are going nowhwere. At best, I see them as a 5th seed.
Miami - Chicago - Brooklyn - Pacers - Knicks. They'll barely get out of the 1st round and if they somehow make it far enough to play miami, they stand no chance. Only chance they have to come out of the east is if Lebron comes out with a freak season ending injury and Derrick Rose is half the player he was 2 years ago and the brooklyn nets experiment fails. Then they'll need to get by Indiana which I dont even see that happening.

enjoy medocrity knick fans
