IndianaBasketballParticipantRoy Hibbert, Paul George and George Hill are all one year better. David West is in year two of his ACL injury, so he should be at full strength. With the improvement of those players, I’m expecting Danny Granger to have a more efficient season. The Pacers didn’t have a sexy off-season, but I do believe they’re a better team.
The Pacers will be one of the best defensive and rebounding teams again this year and I think the offense will run more smoothly through Hibbert in the low post. Hopefully, the Pacers will get the pick and pop game with West going strong.
With Derrick Rose out, the Pacers should win the Central Division easily. I’m expecting at least a 13-3 record.
Looking at the schedule, I see no reason why this team shouldn’t win 30+ games at home. They were a very good home team last season and they should be even better this season. So let’s say a 31-10 record at home.
I expect the Pacers to be an improved team on the road *AND* against teams with .500 and above records. I see the Pacers as a 20+ win road team. Let’s say 23-18 on the road.
So I see the Pacers having a 54-28 record. I feel like that should be enough wins to put them 2nd or 3rd in the conference.
