What the Warriors NEED to do to win a championship in 5 years

The Golden State Warriors are oozing with potential, and their GM and owner are too stupid to realize what they must do, so I'm here to let all you armchair GM's know what I think.

First move, trade Monta Ellis and Corey Maggette for Rudy Gay. Gay can score, and has the potential to be a great defender on the wing. Once Kobe decides to call it a day, Gay and Roy will be the best 2 SG's in the West. Gay can also help out in the front court at forward position, and if he adds some more muscle, he can be the Warriors' solution to LeBron and Durant.

Next, trade Reggie Williams and Azubuike to the Washington Wizards for their 30th pick. Use this pick to either draft Gani Lawal or Damion James. Either of these 2 guys can contribute right away, and provide help with the Warriors front court. If Daniel Orton slips, just like DeAndre Jordan did a few years ago, he would be a great pick here as well.

With their second round pick they should select either Craig Brackens or Jon Scheyer. Craig Brackins would be the better pick by far. Brackins could develop into a PJ Brown type of player and give the Warriors rebounding as well as solid midrange shooting coming off the bench. With that said, Jon Scheyer is a winner. Winning is something the Warriors have not had in a very long time, and Scheyer's winning mentality will be contagious. He could also play the point and have Curry at the 2. They could become one of the best pure shooting back courts in the league.

and with the 6th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft the Golden State Warriors select........... Hassan Whiteside.

This pick would be great, he's a legit 7 footer, and with that low body fat, I can see him turning into a poor man's Dwight Howard in a few years, and potentially turn into an 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks a game type of guy. He'll also change so many shots with his athleticism, and he can also keep up with Don Nelson's fast paced offense if he isn't fired by then.

Which leads me to my next point, fire Don Nelson. Nelly is a great coach, who has won uhhhhh zero titles in his career. His offensive mind is amazing, but what about the defense? Let's do what the Mavs did a few years ago and fire this guy and bring in Avery Johnson. Avery would help out Curry so much on the defensive end and with the ability to run a team.

Steph Curry is the future of the Warriors, and I think he has the potential to develop to a level close to Steve Nash's level in terms of passing and running a team.

Next, pray to the basketball gods that Brandan Wright, Anthony Randolph, and Hassan Whiteside will stay healthy and realize their potential and play with some passion and aggressiveness. These 3 guys are oozing with more potential than Will Smith's son in the Karate Kid.

This is what the potential roster could look like next year if they let me become GM.

PG Stephen Curry- The face of the franchise. I can see him averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9-12 assists next year depending on his teammates.

SG Rudy Gay- Rebounding, Defense, and a whole lot of dunks for the Warriors. 25 ppg, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals a game next year.

SF Anthony Randolph- Potential to become a great defender and rebounder. If he can muster up 10-14 points a game with 7 or 8 rebounds and 4 assists, he'll give the Warriors everything they need. He could be our lock down defender.

PF Brandan Wright- If healthy, and he realizes what a beast he could become, he'll be a stud. This guy is still young being born in October of 1987. If he plays solid defense on the PF's of the West and rebounds well, it won't matter how many points he scores, that's all the Warriors need from him. With that said, 10 points a game would be a huge bonus for them.

C Hassan Whiteside- Shot Blocking, Rebounding, and alley oops from Curry. If he does those things, he can be our own Dwight Howard. 12 points 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots a game next year please.

6 Anthony Morrow- He'll spread the floor and give Rudy Gay some space to operate when Rudy is slashing.

7 Andris Biedrens-Let's face it, he's a back up center. He will provide the Warriors with more rebounding and he'll make Whiteside work for his starting job, which will help Whiteside in the long run. 7 points and 7 rebounds a game next year.

8 C.J. Watson- Solid back up PG for Curry.

9. Anthony Tolliver- He had a solid season, and would give the Warriors a back up PF.

10. Gani Lawal/ Damion James- Either of these guys will give the Coach versatility. Both will provide rebounding and a lot of energy.

11. Craig Brackins/ Jon Scheyer- Brackins is a potential pick and also provides some more versatility. Scheyer would help out the front court and provide shooting and great character for a team that's been bugged with some bad attitudes.

12. Ronny Turiaf- Rebounding and a spark plug off the bench. Character type of guy and he'll probably just keep the bench warm.

If a group like this can stay together for 3 or 4 years, they'll be championship contenders because the West is aging fast.

I agree with alot of what you

I agree with alot of what you said. Mainly the point of getting rid of Ellis and making this Stephen Curry's team. I see Ellis causing alot of friction once Curry surpasses him as a player, which I think will happen this upcoming season.
