What State/City has had the best high school talent since 2000
Cali, Texas or North Carolina. Maybe Georgia too
Quincy Miller (played HS ball out of state though)
Julian Wright (lol)
D Wade (graduated in 2000 so he counts right?)
= may not be the best, but damn good.
Side Note: I will never sleep on the northwest/ Seattle area again, so they deserve a mention.
Iguadala is from IL.
"Julian Wright (lol)"
You laugh but from what I've observed on the HS level he had pretty decent ball handling skills and showed the ability to possibly be considered for running some PG.
- Dee Brown
- Sean Dockery
- Andre Iguodala
- Sherron Collins
- Jon Scheyer
- Jereme Richmond
- Kendrick Nunn
Overall I'll have to think, but Chicago is on a roll with top picks.
Derrick rose #1 pick
Anthony Davis #1 pick
Jabari Parker possibly #1 this year
Cliff Alexander/Jahlil Okafor potential #1 in 2015
Not to mention guys like Eddy Curry, Julian Wright, Iman Shumpert, Stephen hunter, Quentin Richardson, bobby Simmons, Melvin Ely, Dwayne Wade, Tony Allen, Will Bynum, Patrick Beverly as guys who were either 1st rd picks or productive NBA players, that's a lota lot
But I have to put Memphis on the table somewhere
If this is purely on high school hoops I would have to say its a close race between Chicago and btimore. For states I would say Texas
Chicago. However, by the end of the century, the answer will be Las Vegas. UNLV!!!
Chicago has ballers.
Toronto/Ontario is coming on strong and might be the best city/province/state/area for basketball within a couple years, if it isn't already.
As long as they keep up with the Findlay Prep/Texas pipeline they will be straight for many many years to come.
California for state
Gotta give Darren Collison a mention too!
most of these are la kids, id say cali by far has produced the most as a state. Chi/LA are probably pretty close on the city battle.
Indiana doesn't have the overall numbers of bigger states but definitely has good quality none the less. I'm assuming that we're taking high school and college years into consideration with this list too since it didn't really specify.
Sean May (UNC years)
Greg Oden (think his healthy years)
Glenn Robinson III
Greater Toronto Area/Ontario, help me out
That's a sweet starting 5 right there, even for an Olympic team.
Coming up, Jamal Murray, combo guard
Lebron and Romeo Travis hands down.
Romeo Travis was a beast. One of the best to never play in the NBA
This thread gets made a couple times a year and as always the correct answer is California if we are looking at states or Los Angeles area if we are looking at cities.
Chicago as a City can put most of the USA to Shame.. Ask Calipari and Bill Self, when you want to win a championship you recruit Chicago... Anyone in recruiting will tell you Chicago brings up players better then any city..
Chi-Town waddup! Although these two became busts in the league im surprised there was no love mentioned for either Darius Miles or Eddy Curry. They were both top 5 picks right outta High School and two of the more hyped prospects of their generation. Also special mention goes out to Will Bynum, lil' man was cold back then for Crane H.S. and Coach Longstreet.
Texas- already mentioned but their list is long
Myles Turner and Emmanuel Mudiay in 2014
just to name a few
@kg2hg. I did mention eddy curry and will Bynum
Somebody do NYC metropolitan area already.
