What do you guys think of this trade?
Kings are losing on this one
I am not a Cousins fan. Although Cousins is probably the most talented player on the Kings, I believe he is an incurable head case that will poison his locker rooms for the next ten years. However, if there's a chance Cousins can change, it will be in a different location where veteran leadership controls. With Wall and Nene providing the leadership, Cousins may have hope. I doubt it, but there's a chance it could happen.
If I were the Kings I would make this deal. Frankly, I would be shopping Cousins energetically at this point looking for any reasonable deal. Even losing their most talented player, I think the Kings improve with this trade. Frankly, they may improve by trading Cousins for nothing (addition by subtraction).
Unfortunately, I don't think the Wiz would be big on bringing in another head case after recently unloading one, even if there are reasons to think this trade could make sense.
Don't the Kings have enough combo guards already?
No way the Sac town does this deal. But if you throw in Washingtons lottery pick maybe they come to the tabe to talk. Cousins is such an enigma, everything says this guy should be top 5 center in the league. But he can't seem to straighten himself out in between the ears. To me DeMarcus has the potential to be a bigger, stronger, more athletic, and versatile Zach Randolph. And when you consider Z-Bo is already pretty much 20-10 a night player when healthy, who can dominate games for stretches, despite subpar athleticism its scary to think how good Boogie can become.
I like Cousins to the Wizards but if they were to pull this off they would be getting Andray Blatche all over again.
Call me gready but I'd rather keep Beal and package another deal to get Cousins. Wall, Beal, Cousins core would make me happy
Why would the Kings trade a merging center which are extremely hard to come by, for a shooting guard thats probably not a perrenial all star
So the Wizards finally get rid of their previous headcases and they trade for Cousins?
for suggesting
Sacramento: gets Beal, Okafor(preferably)/Nene, and Singleton
Washington: Cousins, Salmons and Garcia
Its the same deal except I got rid of the trash, with giving up Salmons and Garcia. Also a replacement for Cousins in Okafor. If I was the Wiz I would throw in Vessly also because a Wall/Cousins connection could spur Coach Cal to give it another go if he could recruit say a MKG to come over later down the line.
DeMarcus Cousins is future Top 20 Player of All-TIme waiting to happen, just wait, he's going to dominate the game like no other big man we've seen since Shaq, it's a pity he's stuck on an organization as terrible as the Kings.
as far as his game, in the League at any given time between the next 2 and 12 years. I think he is special, extra special, like Beal, Singleton, Okafor and a unprotected 2013 first rounder special. But he is also special in a what's really going on up stairs way. Their organization sucks but so does his attitude. He is the type of guy that has to hit rock bottom or have the world give up on him to actually get it.
It took me first guys like Baron Davis and JR Smith to waste a quarter to half their career to get it, I hope its not so for Cousins. Both those guys as mature adults apologized to Byron Scott for being hard and real with them at a early age, but it took that seasoning to get them their later. He will never be successful with the Kings.
"DeMarcus Cousins is future Top 20 Player of All-TIme"
My god, this one is history. Okok so that's put him in a group of Abdul-Jabbar, Russell, Wilt, Shaq and Olajuwon (and i just take center). And arguably right in front of guys like David Robinson ? Even Ewing's career will look like a he get a ring comparing to Cousins' one.
Still can't believe it, who give you a thumbs up ? do you have fake account ??
Let the future show us the truth but no way Cousins will achieve that.
I've been saying this about Cousins since even before he got drafted. Last year when everyone one wrote him off as a headcase I was the one that said he'd average 19 and 11 that same season. It's well documented that I think he's going to be the most dominant big man since Shaq, nothing new here.
I got no problem with the fact that he will be dominant a day and that he averaged 19 & 11, i got a problem with Top 20 All-Time. Tell me your top 20 players of all-time and i will show u that he simply cant be part of it, maybe top 200 or 100 at best (and that's already a huuuuge achievment)
I think Cousins is in the same category as Bynum in that they both could be dominant bigs, but they're inconsistent and you're not really sure what they're thinking at any given time.
For the love of God, the Kings should be the team trading multiple players to get one player in return. They have way too many guys on that team that need minutes right now. They're a complete mess.
It's like the Milwaukee Bucks front court. Way too many PF/C's. They need to make a move to shrink their roster, not expand it.
Any trade involving Cousins has to bring back a starting caliber Small Forward and a Center to replace him.

Wizards get DeMarcus Cousins from Kings
Kings get Bradley Beal and Kevin Seraphin from Wizards
Wizards would get a great piece with Demarcus who has proven chemistry with John Wall. Cousins seems to just always be getting into trouble with Sacramento so they might want a change. They would get in return a nice young shooting guard with a lot of potential and a center with a nice post game.
