Time for Durant to finally

Time for Durant to finally live up to what he's been talking about and start being the number 1 option for his team. He says he is done being second? Here is his chance to prove it.

I never bet against San

I never bet against San Antonio...every time I have it's burned me. I'd imagine San Antonio is the favorite now.

That's terrible for Westbrook and the Thunder's title hopes though. It makes things so much tougher on them to be without Westbrook. If the Thunder are going to succeed Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson, and Kevin Martin will need to step up their production big time.

WHOA! This changes the entire complexion of the western conference! I'm sure 'he'll only be out a week or two but Clippers or Grizzlies now could have a chance next round. Is it related to the Beverly bump?

This would also be the first

This would also be the first time Westbrook has missed a game for OKC since entering the league.
439 straight games.

Oh man this sucks so

Oh man this sucks so bad!

Hopefully he can return this postseason. His streak is gone and I really don't want to be in the same room with Russ when they tell him he needs surgery...

A major blow to the team regardless of who picks up the minutes. Hope Reggie Jackson goes off!

ESPN

Yea I just saw that on ESPN. Damn, everyone is getting frickin injured in the West. Really &$#%#&@! me off. Looks like when patrick beverley bumped westbrook's knee it actually cause him to mess his meniscus up.

Things just got a hell of a lot more open in the West. If Westbrook is less than 90% then I think the Thunder are really in trouble. Lets see if Durant can step up and put this team on his back, because that is what is going to need to happen in order for the Thunder to keep advancing.

Lets hope Westbrook is able to continue to perform at a high level. Never fun seeing a dynamic player get injured in the playoffs. And on a side note...The HEAT catch another break!! They are going to run through the East, and if they somehow meet the Thunder gain in the finals and Westbrook isn't his usual self then I can see OKC possibly getting swept

Why would anyone count OKC

Why would anyone count OKC out of the finals now? Durant has the ability to pick up the slack for Westbrook, you're all really underestimating KD.

idk

I don't know man. I love KD, but it takes more than one guy to carry a team through the West. If Westbrook is done for this series, or at least really limited then I think the Rockets can still turn this into a series. They almost stole one in game 2 in OKC. Now they are heading back to Houston.

In short, Durant would need to step up big time!! He has had a relatively disappointing series so far. He's shooting pretty poorly overall. Durant is going to need to reach deep down and really start dominating every time down the floor. No more drifting!!

He's going to be forced to

He's going to be forced to step up and take a lot more shots. It isn't like he's a backup on the bench, he is Kevin Durant. Once his shots get going they're going to keep falling. When the Rockets double him it is going to lead to a lot more open shots for his teammates, why can't you guys just accept KD is going to have to play a little more Iso ball? He needs to step up and show everyone that with Westbrook out he is going to be the guy. If I see Derrick Fisher dribbling the ball up the court and he try's to create plays I am going to be mad. He needs to take the ball down the court and give it to KD, let KD take over. They're going to have to change their basketball style of play but honestly it could end up working to their advantage.

OKC

OKC already took a big hit when they dealt Harden. Now they lose a guy that was a defender and a big part of their offense. That either means you start Jackson and lose a spark off the bench or start Fisher. Either way Fisher is getting more minutes and that's not a good thing. While I think Westbrook shot too much, at times they needed his aggressiveness. Durant isn't just going to all of a sudden make up for himself and another all star. He can pick up the slack, as can other guys, but it's going to be a big difference.

Artest came back this year 12

Artest came back this year 12 days after surgery but I'm not expecting the same. First game Westbrook is going to miss in his entire basketball career. Sad day.

The worst time for him to

The worst time for him to miss his first game. His defense and aggressiveness will be missed by the team. It's time for Durant to show us what he got. I think Westbrook's aggressive play has been holding up Durant as well. And yes I think Russell might be done for the season. But I gotta say all these teams chances of getting past OKC went up.

What a mess. He gets a lot of

What a mess. He gets a lot of hate, but he is one of my favorite players in the league. Hate this for iron man Westbrook. I think some people are really underrating Westbrook here. The reason the Thunder are so good is because they are two top 10 players in the league. Losing him for a few games in a major blow. We don't even know what the Thunder look like without him because he never missed a game before this.

Artest came back in 2 weeks.

Artest came back in 2 weeks. For a normal person a meniscus is maybe 3 months but I think Westbrook will be back sometime during the 2nd round. I now want to see how Durant reacts as a legit number 1 now, and I wonder will this give Jeremy Lamb or Perry Jones III some playing time, Durant may move down a little more now for PJ3 to play or Jeremy Lamb may have to play because you can't play Derek Fisher really big minutes. So you have Fisher, Jackson, Thabo, Martin, Liggins, and Lamb someone has to play more.

You play Jackson, Martin, and

You play Jackson, Martin, and Fisher more in that order. i dont think it is wise to suddenly give rookies who have very little NBA Game experience to play right away in the play-offs. can they help? absolutely. is it a sure thing? definitely not. their inexperience on the court could allow them to make mistakes and even hinder the team. in the play-offs when every play matters, you just dont want to take that risk.

Reggie Jackson will be

Reggie Jackson will be starting but 1. Derek Fisher can't play a ton of minutes and 2. you can't trust him on defense anymore. Reggie Jackson will probably play 35 minutes a game now, but I'm thinking they need a another ball handler which will probably be Durant but that means they need another shooter or athlete on the court. You're right it's not wise, but it may have to be done. Liggins who has more playing experience than Lamb and PJ3 really is another Thabo, so you can't really play him.

I don't know. I just think the Thunder can't win a championship playing Kendrick Perkins and Fisher big minutes anyway.

I always thought that was the reason they drafted PJ3, so they could play "small"(PJ3 is almost 7 feet tall lol) but Ibaka at center, PJ3 at the 4, Durant, Westbrook, and Martin/Sefolosha.

Or Ibaka, durant, sefolosha/martin, lamb/jackson, westbrook.

IDK it just sucks it happened to Westbrook.

Jeremy Lin breathed a sigh if

Jeremy Lin breathed a sigh if relief. This guy absolutely murdered him in the first two games.

The Rockets now have a shot at extending the series meaning Westbrook will likely be back by the mid 2nd round (If HOU extends this series to 6-7 games)

Damn

I saw it on Facebook and thought it was a joke. I logged on here to see if it was true... SMH
Does anybody know how long it will be out? I hate it for Russ... His streak and maybe season ends on a unnecessary play by Patrick Beverly.

I'm guessing now we'll see the KD that we've been waiting on.

Yea, I just read, Westbrook's injury is a small small tear, so it's a chance he may be back for the playoffs, but still he played better WITH the tear than without it in game 2 that dude is amazing.....

Just terrible news. When I

Just terrible news. When I saw the hit and West's reaction, I was worried it was something like this. But then he played so well afterwards. But this is just terrible.

Rockets are at home tomorrow and currently favored. Brooks is probably going to play Fisher heavy minutes and that will probably be a disaster. Lin should find a way to get back on the court, things will be much easier for him now.

WOW! This isn't a major

WOW!

This isn't a major injury, BUT Westbrook doesn't get hurt like EVER. This sucks.

This sounds like it's just a clip and stitch, but I hope he doesn't try to return too early. Remember Brandon Roy?

If Jackson plays well it

If Jackson plays well it could determine who OKC selects with their lottery pick....If not they might be looking at a backup point guard with their 1st selection.....

I want to preface this with

I want to preface this with saying I legitimately feel bad that Westbrook is now out.

But I find it very ironic that people continued to compare his ability to play every day with Derrick Rose getting hurt. And what peopled failed to understand is that injuries are mostly RANDOM and anyone can get hurt in any game or practice. It's sad that 3 of the top 8 or 9 players in the league are now out of the playoffs due to injury.

Does anything else think Houston can now get back in this series? This is really a one man team now in OKC, and I don't think Ibaka is ready to be a #2
