Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday and will be out through the All-Star break, the team announced. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10201848/russell-westbrook-oklahoma-city-thunder-knee-surgery

I don’t expect the Thunder to lose much steam. Jackson is playing much better now than he did when he started during the beginning of the season. Im actually looking forward to watching him now. What do y’all expect from Jackson? Teams certainly will game plan for him now.

Let Westbrook rest as much as he needs.’..I do think that he came back rather quickly from his injury.

I’m pretty worried now…  this knee better not turn into a chronic issue or it could seriously hurt the Thunder’s title hopes for the future.

I dont think it’s a major concern right now. That being the 3rd procedure on that knee sounds bad but it’s actually very common for guys to have follow up scopes after surgeries. I had to have some tendons repaired and was fine 5months later. The doctor told me that I would still need to come in and get it scoped after my season was over.

I think Westbrook couldve waited and played through it, but the Thunder are actually in a comfortbale spot and wont fall too much over a month or 2 without Russ. He had the scope and now will rehab and strenghthen it until after the break. Its better to have Russ as healthy as possible for the playoffs than to play him all season at 80-85%.

Plus Reggie Jackson gets to grow and learn even more now.

this will improve durant`s mvp chances, the load he needs to carru just got a lot bigger.

Hopefully this gives Jeremy Lamb more opportunities to grow into that legitimate 3rd opyion they need. With Jackson starting, Lamb will be forced to carry the scoring on the bench.

He’s had 3 surgeries on his right knee in less than a year. I’d say that’s a HUGE problem, especially considering his game is based on first step quickness, explosion and athleticism.

You have to really worry about the long term state of his knee. Is his meniscus repair holding? How much of it were they able to save? Has he done damage to his articular cartilage?

I’m definitely worried about him going forward.
