    Wes Matthews Update: Sacramento offer to free-agent swingman is actually four-year deal at $16 million annually for total of $64 million

    This is outragous!! Coming off an archilles tear. Why??

     if kings strike out this summer, they look bad. Wes is actually a really good piece and the shooting gaurd they wanted when they drafted guys like mclameore and stauskas. I hate the price tag, but i can understand the kings stance.

    And for the record i lived in sacramento for 7 years between 2002-09, its not that bad a place. Its no big city but you can be comfortable and visit numerous great places within an hour (bay, lake tahoe, yosimite park, reno)

    They forced their own hand with the trade yesterday. Once Monta decided on Indiana, they lost all leverage on negotiating with Wes.

    Ken Berger reported earlier that he wants to play with DJ in Dallas…so he might wait for his decision before committing anywhere.

    It seems very odd to me. It seems like every year somebody gets into a bidding war and ends up overpaying somebody like crazy. Maybe if he isn’t coming off the injury I would understand the deal because I do like Wes as a player. However he is an offensive player that has never averaged over 16.5 a game. He is an average defender and I really don’t know how much better overall he will be than Ben McLemore over the next 4 years of this potential deal.
