I just want to take the time to appretiate some of the better moves that have been made over the last couple of years that no one is really talking about.

I’ll start off with the obvious homer players:

People were disgusted when the Celtics signed Bradley to a 4/32 mil deal, but it turns out he’s become a complete steal, and has turned into one of the better two way SG’s in the NBA posting around 15/3/2/1.6 on 45/40/80 shooting. His defense has also been elite. Great awareness and trust by Ainge with this one.

Crowder was a steal for 5/35 mil! He’s the heart and soul of the Celtics, and is putting up around 13/5/2/2 on 45/36/83 shooting, and again, is a steller defender. Great signing, as I think he’s a decent starter, and great 3D bench player

Bismack Biyombo is making GM’s everywhere wonder what they were doing this offseason. He signed a two year deal worht $6 mil, and so far, it’s looking like he could have quadrupled his earnings. He’s still garbage offensively, but he’s an elite shot blocker and elite rebounder, and is averaging 5 ppg and 9 rpg with 1.4 bpg in only 24 minutes. He has a 29% Defensive Rebounding % which is crazy, and on the flip side, he’s only 23 years old. Great signing by Toronto

Nikola Jokic was a 2nd round pick who the Nuggets locked up for 4 years at less than $1.5 mil per, and so far he’s looking like an absolute steal. He’s averaging 9 and 5 in less than 20 mpg, and has shown the ability to hit the three and pass out of the post and double teams. He’s going to be a solid player in the NBA

When CJ Miles signed that 4 year deal in 2014, did anyone expect him to be the second option on the team that in currently 5th in the East? Because I certainly didn’t. No did I ever think he would be making 3 three pointers a game on 40% shooting! Great signing, and great running make for PG13.

Not the typical move here, but the Wolves signing Andre Miller for the vet min was a fantastic move, and I can tell that him and KG have already done a lot for the young guys in the locker room. I think these are the types of moves that rebuilding teams need to do, and why I think Philly is an absolute joke of a franchise right now. I learned to appretiate having Gerald Wallace on the bench during this mini Celtic rebuild, as you could see his influence on the young team. Miller has had that same effect for the Wolves so far

Josh smith 4 year 54 million by the pistons.  The team is currently in the playoff hunt and Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond are thriving.  Great move by Joe dumars.

Biyombo has been playing like Ben Wallace lately. Last 6 games he’s averaging 7.5-ppg, 15-rpg, and 3.5-bpg. The team seems very comfortable with him on the floor. Great to see what our backup C is capable of it should be interesting to see how Jonas returns and how Biyambo’s role adapts.

Will Barton’s 3 year / 11mm deal with Denver is looking like a steal right about now..

(In limited minutes) Shane Larkin looks like a pretty good deal for the Nets so far.  Jarrett Jack’s averaging a career high 4.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists ona reasonable deal too.

Derrick Favors 4 year / 49mm extension a few years back looks cheap these days. If Raul Neto is going to continue to play pesky defense and shoot 3’s well, he’ll be a major steal at 1 mil salary for the next few seasons too.

Aminu seems to be in the early stages of fufilling that contract in Portland,

Ish Smith was obviously well worth the few hundred thousand the Pelicans paid for him..

Darren Collison for 3 years and 16 mil continues to look like a bargain for Sacramento,
