i dont remember q-rich with depaul, however i do remember him with the suns/knicks, and let me tell you they are nothing alike. ive seen wayne selden jr play live about 3 times. hes going to be special. im telling you. hes a great passer, hes athletic and strong as fuhhh. hes jumper can use a little work but its not broke which is also good. id seriously compare him to deron williams in his prime days.

Nah not liking the Q-Rich comparison this kid is very Athletic and loves contact. Very physical and strong for his size with a nice stroke more of a natural SG vs Q-Rich being a spot up Shooter with a post game most of his career.

He is a Dwayne Wade type of player, maybe a bigger Eric Bledsoe.

Selden’s ability to run the pick-n-roll/pop is one of his best assets. Has good vision but needs to learn better decision making and to make passes to players more in rhythm. Shot is improving with more repetition. I can really see Selden becoming a player similar to James Harden in the pros. A SG who has great enough handles and passing ability to initiate the offense but also a good enough shooter and driver to be a tremendous scorer in the league as well.

I’m waiting for every other person to start throwing out D-Wade comparisons. It seems that any big time athlete at the 2 guard with a thick, stocky, build gets a D-Wade comparison these days. Wade is a once in a generation talent and shooting guards with his ability and success come around RARELY.

That said, his style is a little D-Wade like and I love his game. Even so he is not D-Wade, and will never be D-Wade. I see a little Lance Stephenson in him, but with a higher ceiling because of his Athleticism and skill-level at a young age.

Of course, I have only seen high school highlight tapes of him doing work on 14-18 year olds so it is WAY too early to make any definitive statements about his game. I do like what I see very much, however.

^Looks like the D-Wade comparisons were already flying in before I could complete the previous post.

The Lance Stephenson is another good comparison. I think what Stephenson did in the playoffs this past season could be Selden’s floor. I think Selden will be much better than Stephenson as he plays more under control than Stephenson at a similar age and has a better shot.

Build is similar to dwade as well as his finishing ability. Looks like a he’s a bit more creative with his passing though and has a bit more of a refined offensive game at this point in his career.

Wayne Seldon is a stud. He could possible lead Kansas in scoring over Wiggins and Perry Ellis. His game is more in the D Wade, Steve Francis, Westbrook mold. Hes a freakishly athletic power guard with speed hops and handles. The big difference is that Seldon may be a legit 6’6 so he’s got legit SG size.

Richardson was a combo forward in college, playing both the 3 and 4. Richardson even played half his NBA career as a small forward.

Seldon isn’t going to be playing forward for the Jayhawks next year and he’s gonna be a guard his entire career.

I believe he will not surpass Wiggins in scoring :). I do believe however that he’ll become a D-Wade like scrapper and we’ll be great in the pick n’ roll. He definitely has star potential if he keeps what he’s doing up.

I really like him as a player. How athletic is he really? People are throwing out Wade who in his prime was an “elite” athlete and Westbrook who I consider a “freak” athlete who is above even NBA standards… someone help me out, who does he compare to strickly athleticism wise?

Selden’s very close to being, if not already, at the elite athleticism level imo. Wiggins is more of the freak athlete type of guy just as Westbrook is.

He reminds me a lot of Ronnie Fields in ways… just plays way above the rim.

His physical attributes are solid. At 6-5, 225 with very little body fat his strength will more than likely be his best physical attribute. Has good build up speed but some question how good his side to side and first step speed are because of his size. We’ll find out more about that in college. Will be great in transition when he gets a head of steam because of his good speed and strength.
