Warriors Trade Wright, Gadzuric to New Jersey for Troy Murphy, 2nd rounder
If troy Murphy comes into his own he coul be a good player in the Warriors type system. In Indiana he stretched out the opponents defense, got gritty points in the paint and mad rebounds.
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! (Bipolar moment LOL)
Brandan Wright will finally get burn. I hope he turns into Bosh 2.0 with us. No need for Donte Greene now.
I like Murphy going to the Warriors. Where do you think he got that big contract to begin with?
Good move for New Jersey, Wright could still be something. For Golden State, interesting for a 2nd half playoff run
Rumor has it were going to buy Murphy out
Brandon Wright has always been overrated. I don't see him making much of a postive impact anywhere he goes.
Now Favors gets to start and Wright will be a fringe starter. Time for some real development. And the Nets won't have to use Petro as a backup to Lopez.
Murphy will probably play the role as a scorer off the bench for the Warriors much like Reggie Williams does.
Why would Favors start now, Murphy wasnt starting before, he wasnt even in the rotation...
B. wright is a bust...i would be really suprised if he makes any type of impact... he's too weak and plays with desire, I dont even think he'll last in the league to much longer..
I think that Murphy is a starter... The team doesnt really like Biedrins and Murphy fits their system to the tee... Also, dont you know that they are playing Radmanivic big minutes as a complement to DLee... Dont you think that Murphy is a huge upgrade over Vlad???
And hes a really good shot blocker but he can rebound or defend in the post. We've actually tried him at SF a bit this year and it was okay. If he was 220 he'd be much better
I dont think we have interest in keeping him
Murphy will almost certainly be bought out, Gadzuric and Wright are both FAs at the end of the season. Wright will probably get an extended look to see what he can do, and make a decision whether to retain him for next season to potentially get good PT and maybe even a starting spot at the 4. If/when Murphy is bought out, expect the Magic, Mavericks and Heat to go hard after him. I also think he would be a nice fit with the Lakers.
I'm not high on Wright, but it's not like Murphy was doing anything in Jersey. Might as well dump his salary and take a low risk gamble on a young guy. Not a monumental move by NJ, but not a bad one either. I don't see how it makes a lot of sense for Golden State. They just got David Lee and just drafted Epke Udoh, both power forwards, seems like Murphy will be doing a lot of the same thing he was doing in NJ.
Troy Murphy will be bought out. Magic, Heat, and Celtics are interested in his services.
I've been seeing a rumor of Z-Bo going to the Magic for Bass and J-Rich, so if that happens, I doubt Murphy goes there. Mavericks have been mentioned as a suitor as well, but I don't see it happening.
Should Murphy indeed be bought out by the Warriors after the trade, why wouldn't the Knicks give him a serious look for a prorated vet min contract. Murphy is looking for 2 things. Playing time and a new contract for next season. This offseason Murphy could choose to reup for a 1 year contract like David Lee did so the Knicks can preserve their cap space for the summer of 2012, or they could just let him go and look to find front court depth by some other means.
Murphy would provide a front court presence that the Knicks desperately need... and he can shoot the 3 ball. That 3 ball potential is pretty important because of of the Knicks SSOL offence. Amare and Melo are your high post/low post players on Offence and Billups, Fields, and Murphy would be your outside/stretch the floor shooters. I'd be pretty concerned about defence but stranger things have happened. Sometimes pieces just jell together and find a way to be better then the sum of their parts.
imo he will def be bought out just between the celts lakers and magic to where he ends up
Injuries hurt Wright... He's constantly behind and hasn't gotten a great opportunity.
I want to see what he can do... I have a slight feeling he could still be something decent.
I hope they get Murphy. The pick and pop with him and Rondo could be very good, and the Celtics could always need rebounding.
The first thing somebody thinks about in regards to a player fitting in with a team is offense... What about defense? Murphy would be a terrible fit with the Celtics defensively.
Murphy couldn't get burn in New Jersey because he couldn't defend. What's going to happen with Doc?
I remember Troy Murphy being a pretty good player a few years back, but I haven't seen him play in a while. It seems he had a groin injury and a back strain in the fall and it doesn't look like he got much playing time this year. Maybe he can revitalize his career in Golden State.
He definitely has some great qualities as a ball player... He can shoot the three ball... He's similar to Dirk in the way he kind of trails and then spots up for that top of the key three. He's damn near automatic from there.
He also has a sneaky ability to put the ball on the floor, straight line drive to the basket and finish. Decent athleticism. Great defensive rebounder.
However... Dude just cannot defend anybody. And he doesn't give you much offense with his back to the basket.
Murphy is going to be bought out. Word is that the Celts, Magic, Mavericks or Heat have interest according to realgm.com. Murphy is a good role player and could contribute on one of those teams, but he has always had his shortcomings, which is one reason I think he was in Avery Johnson's dog house. When you have a guy that can shoot and rebound like Murphy, and you choose to play Kris Humphries, my guess is defense must have been a major issue. He has never played a play-off series and is in his 10th year, so I see him contributing to any one of those teams, maybe being a decent role player, but he by no means puts anyone over the top.
Could and would Murphy go back to Indiana? I don't know if there is bad blood there but the Pacers have a void at the power forward spot and he could fill in and chemistry would still be pretty good because Murphy has played with most of those guys for years..
Looks like this trade was bigger than everyone was originally led on. D-Will going from the Jazz to the Nets. Crazy.
