Warriors making Lee available

Warriors accomplished a lot this year, and Lee is talented, but I always felt that they needed a pure post scorer to maximize the Curry/Thompson backcourt. Trade machine is down, but I think a Lee for Zach Randolph/Ed Davis deal would work. Warriors get a great post scorer which would make their shooters more deadly. Randolph isn't strong on the defensive end, but like the reigning DPOY Gasol, Bogut would make up for his defensive issues. Ed Davis is a young PF to bring along behind Randolph. Memphis, looking to shed salary, and I *believe* Lee makes about 4 million less than Randolph. Again trade machine is down. Gasol-Lee front court, Memphis will not skip a beat and I think Gasol can take on more of the scoring load.

So you want Memphis to give

So you want Memphis to give away the better player and a young prospect? How does that make sense?

It doesn't. make sense at all..

check his other proposal where he offers up a trade of Portland sending LA to Golden State for a package that includes Brandon Rush.

Why must people post this trash?

My bad...

That was someone else posting that ridiculousness about LA for Brandon Rush. He posted the Lin/Asik for Chalmers/Mike Miller gem though. Sorry, I got them confused.

Alternative Lee trade

I do think its a good idea for the Warriors to trade Lee. I don't think that trade is realistic, but if I were the Warriors I would go in the opposite direction - get rid of Lee and play super small ball like they did in the playoffs. With Barnes emerging, they can play 4 elite shooters along with Bogut, a great passing big. They can be devastating offensively. Lee hurts their spacing, is not a good defender, and advanced metrics point to him being an overrated rebounder. Perhaps more importantly he is making $14-15million for the next three years I believe. The Warriors have FA's this year that they will be hard pressed to afford, not to mention extensions for Thompson and Barnes coming in a few years. If I were them I would just be looking to dump Lee's contract and shed some salary, though I think someone would be interested and he might get something of value.

I was actually thinking a trade for Bargnani would make sense. He makes a few million less than Lee and his contract expires a year earlier. And one thing he can do is shoot. You can probably get a pick in the deal too... Oh sorry. The idiotic Knicks just traded for him AND gave up a pick! Absolutely unbelievable. Anyway does anyone have a realistic trade partner? Teams with cap space that lose out on one of the names from this FA class may bite on him as a consolation prize (kinda similar to how the Warriors got him in the first place).

How about Milwaukee? They seem like they may be moving into win now mode, and they'll have a tough time attracting FA's. What better fit for the worst interior defender to play with one of the best in Larry Sanders. They can trade him for Drew Gooden and Mbah a Moute, also bad contracts, but add up to a few million less and expire a year earlier. And they can try and get the Bucks to throw in John Henson which I think is realistic. If they want to try and make the playoffs again the next year or two the trade makes sense.
