A close friend of mine who plays for Robert Morris told me last night he talked to Wally (they both played AAU for DC Assault) and Wally said he wants to go to Kentucky or Rutgers. There has been rumors of Wally going to Maryland but this is straight from him.
Edit: I was rushing my friend played for Triple Threat
Rutgers would be very interesting considering their program is on the up and up. Kentucky would be a weird team, I think he would be slightly lost in the shuffle.
Maryland is a good choice as well
I don't know why he would want to go to Rutgers. Probably to bost up his stats so he can raise his NBA stock.
I agree that if he goes to Kentucky, he might get lost in the shuffle. He probably knows Calipari's history and thinks that he can turn him into a big-time NBA prospect.
As a Maryland fan though, I hope he comes to Maryland. There were rumors earlier of him wanting to come to Maryland, but they've died down and I'm starting to get a little scared.
Rutgers would be a nice spot for him, He would play most importantly an they are a team on the rise in the best conference in college basketball. He would get alot of pro looks if he does well imo.
Based on what I saw in his brief career thus far, he'd get killed in the Big East. This conference is not for the weak (physically and/or mentally).
He could play in the Big East at least as well as he did at K-State. I go as far as to say the Big 12 has a more demanding league than the Big East, the Big East just has more teams.
Judge needed to get away from Coach Martin's coaching. It was obvious Wally was never fully confident playing for K-State, mostly due to how fiery Coach is. If you make one mistake, you get pulled and lashed out. Frank Martin's style isn't for everyone. I wish Wally the best wherever he goes. I think Kentucky or Rutgers are both good for him. Rutgers' new coach seems to be decent, and he could build a decent program out there.
That information sounds legit. I have doubted the Maryland rumors the whole time because of Wally Judge's AAU coach. He has pushed all his players away from Gary Williams.
Disagree with your Big 12-Big East assessment, but thats a story for another day. But yeah, maybe its just a change of scenery he needs. Don't know if he'll ever have that feel for the game that his athleticism and mcdonalds all american billing would suggest at the college level.
Hope he doesn't think it will be a cake walk to play alot at Rutgers with there top 15 recruiting class coming in next year (two of which are very good big men)
