Obviously the guy was a walk on who earn a scholarship this year.In his school he averaged almost 19 ppg and I heard had some high D2 and low D1 looks but was born and raised in Kentucky so he always dreamed of going to school there. Bottom line is last night he was ballin and he is for sure a hooper. He may not have the NBA potential of his fellow comrades but I say when you can be productive against a good team like Maryland and if he continues I think he has a chance at earning some money across the water. You have to remember there are top level, mid level and lower level leagues over seas and even Mid level leagues pay some players 4 to 5 grand a month which is not bad.I feel this dude can hoop and may have a shot. It's amazing what hard work does and not getting bit by injury bugg. May God be with him.
Ya Polson was a 2 star recruit coming out of HS and I read his college decision was between UK and Liberty in the Big South Conference. He really sparked UK and I think he will be a great option off the bench going forward.
Yeah I believe so as well. He is not afraid it seems like. Do you think he can make a living overseas?
If you get BCS level minutes you can play somewhere. Maybe he could stick in a lower level Europe league, but there's also quality bball in South America, the Middle East, and Puerto Rico. We will see throughout the season where he will find his niche.
If he had the athleticism of Harrow, he would be a legit prospect for sure. I loved that he got a lot of PT last night
Polson as I said in another post has went up against Brandon Knight(#3 PG in the country 2010 and starting NBA guard) and Marquis Teague(#1 PG in the country 2011 and NBA guard) in practice everyday.....i'm pretty sure when Rondo,Bledsoe and Wall came back he went up against them as well.....not to mention he's went up against Ryan Harrow(#6 PG in 2010) everyday.
On top of that he's probably picked up and learned alot from Rod Strickland, Tony Delk and Coach Cal as well, Polson really shouldn't be a suprise to come in and contribue if called upon, he's been at UK for 3 years going up against the best talent everyday, college wise he's probably battled against the best of guards out of any guard in america... He could play on any high major team and start for 90% of mid major teams.
Could he be a pro? Yep, not NBA, but def overseas.
He is the type of player Kentucky needs, he will play 4 years and will bring experience and work ethic to practice. on a team that relies on so many freshmen, he is a nice player for them
It's good to see other people think that he can be an overseas pro because it sure looked like it last night.
White boy got game. Nag in all seriousness he was very tenacious and out hustled everyone(how he got key 2 offensive boards and putbacks). If Ryan harrow struggles I think paulsens minutes will continue to rise
