d-grizzlyParticipantI think Wade will have a phenomenal season. Yes, he’s older. Yes, his knee is not getting any better and will never get better due to his surgery about a decade ago. The man comes back when people doubt him. It pushes him and Wade fans know this.
Call me crazy, but I think he’ll average 25ppg, 6rpg, 6apg, and 1spg while shooting around 48-50%.

ProudGrandpaParticipantWell, if you want me to entertain your post with a serious argument, here it is:
Larry Bird never averaged 25 PPG once he turned 32. Julius Erving never averaged 25 PPG once he turned 32. Clyde Drexler never averaged 25 PPG once he turned 32. Neither did Oscar Robertson, Vince Carter, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Adrian Dantley, Rick Barry, or nearly any modern-era NBA shooting guard aside from Jordan and Kobe. Wade hasn’t put up 25 PPG since 2011. He’ll be 33 in January. And, perhaps, most importantly, Chris Bosh is still playing in Miami. If anyone averages 25 PPG, I see it being Bosh as he hasn’t looked very mediocre at times in the past couple years, which Wade has. I don’t see how Wade would average 25 PPG without Bosh and I certainyl don’t see it happening with Bosh on the roster.

d-grizzlyParticipantWade only attempted 14 shots per game last season and put up 19ppg. He was not always the #2 option for the Heat as well. Chalmers/allen/cole handled the ball A LOT. I expect that Wade will get more control of the ball. In addition, now that Lebron is gone, I assume Wade will also take more attempts. I never guaranteed it either. It’s what I think.
Lastly, Wade has always been stellar in the regular season. He has been sub par that past few playoffs and we all know why. I expect Wade to play great in the regular season. If you don’t like it, oh well.

d-grizzlyParticipantThat’s your opinion, but he will have the ball a lot more now that LeBron has gone. Over the past few years and especially last year, he was not even handling the ball as a #2 option. Miami’s offense will go through Bosh in the low/high post and with Wade driving/kicking.

JordoParticipantI want to believe he can get back to his old self. But when you consider the factors, its doesn’t seem likely. He’s a year older, yes he’s dieting and trying to keep his body right but a grind of an NBA season will still take its tole even if they decide to rest him again this year. And lets say he does will his way to 25 ppg, none of that would matter come playoff time. You’d have a worn out wade who has to have injections in his knees before every game to help with pain.

d-grizzlyParticipantYes Jordo, I agree about the playoffs part. I don’t expect him to go far in the playoffs. I do think it’s realistic that he can put up 25ppg. The offense will go through him a lot more and he will take more than 14 attempts per game.

Ghost01ParticipantThe defense attention LeBron drew can’t be understated, Wade was in a perfect scenario to succeed and still looked finished by the playoffs. I don’t see it.

d-grizzlyParticipantMiami’s offense was give LeBron the ball and do nothing but occasionally move around. I assume there will be a new offensive system that emphasizes ball movement and off-the-ball movement. I still believe Wade will get way more attempts and more control of the ball.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantI don’t think the stats are far off what he’ll average. I mean he’ll do it in 55 games, but he will still average close to those stats. I thinking 23 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds on 44-50% shooting.

druneave3ParticipantHow many minutes do you see Wade getting in this 25 ppg scenario? I don’t think Miami will be doing all they can to finish first or second overall in the East. If you have watched Wade the last few years, what on earth tells you that he will be getting the big minutes necessary to average those elite numbers at his age? Resting Wade throughout the season and saving him for the playoffs is a must.
I see Bosh being more of the offensive focus on this team.
Wade, Bosh, and Deng can all average around 15+ per game and be just fine and make the playoffs with a middle seed. The real question is who will step up in the playoffs and become the leader? Wade sure didn’t do that last year. Expecting him to average 25 per in the regular season and be the guy in a playoff push is asking a lot from someone with his history.

tuck243ParticipantHe also will not have LeBron there so he will fit in the lead role now… I think it would be hard to average 25 points with Deng there, but not impossible… I can see at least 23+ points from D Wade this year… I don’t see why you guys negged him, because the year before LeBron he came off an injury and averaged 26… Then the first year with LeBron he averaged 25… I don’t see why you would neg this man if Wade will be the focal point of the offense again… Regardless of how many games he might play, he will still have his chances to average 25 PPG…
This coming from someone who despise D Wade as a player… I feel like his game hasn’t evolved and he was the main problem for the Heat’s issues with his lack of a 3pt shot…
