my list...

1. Best PG right now? Chris Paul, come on!

2. Best PG in 5 years? Derrick Rose!

3. Most Underrated? Jose Calderon/Greivis Vasquez/Ty Lawson, all three make their teams better and they play good defense. They should get more ink.

4. Most Overrated? Brandon Jennings, actually makes his team worst. Great to have on NBA Live.

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Damian Lillard, will have a great second season.

6. Best Rookie PG? Isaiah Canaan/Ray McCallum, I know, I know, both are second round picks, but for some reason? they will "out do" the first round PG's?

7. Most athletic? Russell Westbrook, would be a great FS in football.

8. Most skilled? Stephen Curry, he's more skilled than you think.

9. Best leader? Chris Paul

10. Best All Time? Earvin Johnson!

By your post and username

By your post and username can't tell if youre serious or not but.. You have Lebron James as the best PG of all-time but Rondo as the best PG right now with Lebron in the prime of his career right now??

I just changed it from

I just changed it from AC68Outlaw to that. I thought it was much more appropriate for the site. LeBron plays point/power/small forward and we'll leave him at that during his career. But if I'm picking an All-Time team he's my point guard without competition. A LeBron-MJ backcourt is something I couldn't pass up.

Mine

1. Best PG right now? Right now I would say Chris Paul but if Derick Rose comes back at the previous level I would take him instead.

2. Best PG in 5 years? Tough to say, I'm a big fan of Kyrie Irving but Rose and Westbrook are very young as well.

3. Most Underrated? I wouldn't say underrated but it's love or hate situation with Russell Westbrook some people loves him while another really underrates him because of his not exactly traditional playing style. Tony Parker doesn't get much credit from casual basketball fans but in this forum everyone understands his value, he is clearly a top 5 point guard.

4. Most Overrated? Do not really think there is one. You can always make a case that Kyrie is putting up stats but hasn't won anything or that Rondo played with bunch of hall of famers, or Paul's limited success in playofs and so on and so on. But there really isn't a point guard who would be seriously overrated in this forum, obviuosly players get a lot of praise after successful games or playoff series a la Steph Curry, but overall I cannot see someone really overated.

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Kyrie, no doubt. This question is made especially for him, ha

6. Best Rookie PG? Burke. The doubts about finishing, about his size and defense are there, but he is a winner and I expect him to find the way to be successful. Won't have Damian Lillard season, that's for sure but will be pretty solid I believe.
7. Most athletic? Toss-up between Derick Rose, Russell Westbrook and Eric Bledsoe.

8. Most skilled? Chris Paul. Kyrie Irving seems awfully close as well as Steph Curry.

9. Best leader? Chris Paul, becoming NBPA president only confirms that.

10. Best All Time? Magic.

picks

1. Best PG right now? tony parker and chris paul isnt as close as people think. this is the one i have the greatest problem with i have on this board. parker is so underrated despite being perhaps the second best player in the world (hollingers words not just mine) before he got injured last season. he tore CP3 up in all his match-ups and is an underrated defender if you watch the tape, where as paul is a gambler and always has been.

2. Best PG in 5 years? Derrick Rose

3. Most Underrated? Mike Conley

4. Most Overrated? deron williams

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Kyrie Irving

6. Best Rookie PG? Trey Burke

7. Most athletic? Russel Westbrook

8. Most skilled? tpny parker, for the tear drop cos it is so efficient and underrated.

9. Best leader? CP3, bit he's yet to own a conference series

Here's my list...

1. Best PG right now? Chris Paul without a doubt.

2. Best PG in 5 years? Probably Derrick Rose

3. Most Underrated? Steph Curry (Still can't believe he wasn't a 2013 All-Star)

4. Most Overrated? Deron Williams (He left most of his game in Utah)

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Kyrie Irving.

6. Best Rookie PG? Would have loved to say Marcus Smart. Trey Burke wins by default.

7. Most athletic? Westbrook for now until we see how Derrick Rose's knee holds up.

8. Most skilled? Easily Chris Paul.

9. Best leader? Easily Chris Paul.

10. Best All Time? Stockton should get more consideration than he does, but Magic is the greatest.

Point Guards

1. Best PG right now? Chris Paul for the moment. I think Rose, Westbrook, Rondo and Irving will put extreme pressure on that slot this season.

2. Best PG in 5 years? Derrick Rose, he's just entering his prime which is scary, injury or not.

3. Most Underrated?

4. Most Overrated? Steve Nash, his lack of ability to guard anyone without a rim protector while not staying healthy puts the future Hall of Famer in this spot.

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Kyrie Irving, there's no other young PG to put in this spot.

1. Best PG right now? Chris

1. Best PG right now? Chris Paul

2. Best PG in 5 years? Kyrie Irving

3. Most Underrated? Is Mike Conley still underrated? If not, then Mario Chalmers. Hits huge shots, helps win games, and plays within the system. Reminds me of a poor man's Chauncey Billups. Chalmers could give you 15 and 5 assists if the Heat go to him more. Look for the Heat to go to Chalmers more in the future.

4. Most Overrated? Chris Paul. Yes, he is the best point guard now, but his teams don't fare too well in the playoffs. He dominates the ball, slows things down, and takes more shots than you think. CP3 burns bridges too. He is probably still the best point guard in the game (until Rose gets healthy), but I am not sure that he will ever lead his team to a title.

5. Best Young PG (2 yrs or less exp. in league)? Kyrie Irving

6. Best Rookie PG? Nick Calathes. Trey Burke is a chucker at times but he will figure it out eventually. MCW has upside but no shot. CJ McCollum is a sleeper, and I really like Peyton Siva's potential off the bench, but I will go with Nick Calathes for Memphis. He is 6'5 and can pass and handle the ball. He has experience in Europe and is going to a good situation with the Grizzlies. If he gets his shot back then he could be a sleeper candidate for all-rookie second team.

7. Most athletic? When healthy, Derrick Rose. Legit 40 inch vertical. Can stop, start, and stop again on a dime. Can get from Point A to Point B faster than anyone. Can finish strong and with power.

8. Most skilled? Steph Curry. He has the shot, great handles, good passing skills, and nice vision. Solid athlete too. He can also get steals. He is a legit MVP candidate this year if he can stay healthy.

9. Best leader? Lots of great leaders. Conley, Rajon Rondo when he is in the right frame of mind, D Rose. CP3 lots of the time. I want to say Tony Parker but it is Coach Pop's and Tim Duncan's team. But, to take a contrary view, I will go with the guy who last year made the biggest difference for his team. When he was out with an injury his team was comically bad. Then he came back and his team was playing pretty well. I am actually going with John Wall here. He is an alpha guy. Huge talent with crazy athleticism for a point guard. I think he is growing as a leader. For the home stretch John Wall was putting up MVP stats with a team record that offered evidence of that.

10. Best All Time? Magic Johnson. One of the all-time greats. Passing, scoring, and winning. LeBron is the only guy close to Magic who could conceivably play all five positions on the floor. Not sure if Magic was a "pure" point guard but he got the job done better than anyone in history. The second best point guard of all time is John Stockton, with Stockton also being the best PURE point guard in NBA history. Stockton took Utah (UTAH!!!!) to back to back Finals, has the all-time assist record AND the all-time steals record, plus he helped get Karl Malone the second most points in NBA history. The first being, of course, Kareem with Magic having a big hand in that.

Magic?

How is Magic not a pure PG? he is one of two players that average 10+ assist per game for their careers. I think because he can score the ball pretty good, and even take over a game with their scoring ability unlike other great pass first PG (jkidd, rondo, stockton)

Others: Best Love/Hate (you

Others:

Best Love/Hate (you love AND hate him): Chris Paul

Most polarizing (some really like him and some really don't): Russell Westbrook

Most exciting: Steph Curry. He can get video game hot, and he can also pass and get steals. Says a lot since I have D Rose in second place who is another guy who can sell a bunch of tickets.

Best option to start for the 2016 Olympic team: In 2016, I want to start TWO point guards in the backcourt: Derrick Rose and Steph Curry. Kyrie Irving just misses (he comes off the bench with Westbrook and Harden). Rose is a bigger 1 who can score and pass. Curry is the best shooter in the league and is about 6'3 which isn't too short.

Best scrub point guard: Tony Wroten. He has a lot of holes in his game. Can't hit a free throw, can't finish with his off hand, but his highlights are great, he can get to the basket at will, is great at pick and rolls, and can thread the needle (sometimes) with his passing. Not afraid to go for the dunk either. He is a backup on Philly now, and may never be an all-star but he is worth keeping an eye on.

Best backup point guard: Darren Collison for the Clippers. He can get points and assists. Should play well when Chris Paul is out of the game. Worked well in New Orleans and it should work well in LA.

Best potential for a comeback: Jeremy Lin. He had a bad year last year due to either going to a new team or just simply the Linsanity Hangover. But he and Dwight Howard should be awesome in the pick and roll. Lin seems like the perfect 4th option behind Harden, Howard, and Chandler Parsons. I think Jeremy Lin bounces back this year.

Best old-school point guard: Ricky Rubio. The passing, the flair, the ball handling. He even has the customary old-school point guard sketchy shooting. Solid on defense too. Always a threat to throw a pass that pays homage to Bob Cousy and Pistol Pete.

Best upside point guard: Rajon Rondo. The only point guard I can think of who can get you 25, 15, and 15 on any given night. He can mail it in at times but when he is on his game he is a triple threat on offense and a pest on defense.

Top 5 point guards for 2013-2014: Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving.

Legit MVP threats for 2013-2014 (Point guard edition): Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Tony Parker, John Wall, Mike Conley, Rajon Rondo (if healthy), and Deron Williams.

Somebody has to name Big-O Robertson, but I agree Magic or Stockton are two of the best.

I don't know why I was negged, but I think players like Big O or Bob Cousy deserve some recognition.

oh yeah and chris paul for

oh yeah and chris paul for leader. i don't think anyone is worthy of overrated right now, especially when everyone says the same players are overrated. that generally points to them becoming most underrated within the next year while becoming an afterthought from being considered overrated.
