I don’t know much about Schroeder but I would touch MCW unless you have another solid guard who can create the offense without him which the Jazz don’t have yet (waiting on Burks). I would either make a move to go get Trey Burke or just wait for the 21 pick and take Larkin or whatever PG they like at that point in the draft. Their are some PGs they could try from the second round and see how they pan out, I like Kabongo, Wolters or Lorenzo brown.

I think they might already be focusing on Wolters at 21 and just go BPA for 14. But to answer your question, Schroeder is a better fit for them.

Schröder is a great young pg who will surprise everybody with his quickness and handle. He is a better fit then MCW.

The more I think about the jazz picks the more I like them picking bpa with their first pick and then at 21 either grabbing larkin or Wolters. Wolters plays very well out of the pick and roll and as a jazz fan I just think he fits our team. Larkin does to but I feel hes a career backup. Wolters to me could be the steal of the draft. Athleticism and level of competition are the only things holding him back, but look at the mid major point guards lately. Also Vasquez another bigger pg was questioned about athleticism and he has turned out alright. I just really like what Wolters brings to the table.

What’s all this talk of Wolters with the 21st pick? It won’t happen, maybe the Jazz find him to be a good player but they aren’t taking him with the 21st pick. NBAdraft.net has him as the 29th prospect, Chad Ford has him as the 43rd prospect, and draftexpress has him as the 39th prospect. There is much more potential with that 21st pick.

Ideally the Jazz could figure out some crazy way to get CJ McCollum. Some scoring and playmaking at the point with high potential.

But saying the Jazz stay at 14 I hope that either Shabazz Muhammed falls (there is plenty of talk of him falling to the Jazz here) or getting Dennis Schroeder. Schroeder is a high risk/high reward pick and that’s what I think the Jazz should go after. They gotta strike it big.

Then at the 21st pick..let’s be real here the Jazz will need another post with them most likely losing Jefferson and Millsap. I am hoping Plumlee could fall but if not maybe a Rudy Robert or even reaching and getting Jeff Withey. I also think Allen Crabbe is a darkhouse pick here. I loved what I saw out him at Cal. I don’t love drafting Larkin here because I’m like the earlier guy, I see him as a career backup PG. Don’t sleep on Tony Snell either. His length and and athleticism could possibly provide a lockdown defender for the Jazz and a guy who could develop into the Kawhi Leonard type player.

At this time in the process I don’t know if there is alot of seperation between alot of these point guards, Schroder, MCW, Larkin, they each have different stengths and weaknesses. I love Larkin’s offense, Schroder seems like he might be the best defender, MCW, if he can shoot will probably turn out to be the best of the bunch. My order at this time would probably be MCW (I think he will end up being a decent shooter). Schroder, long , athletic, good defender and that is what the Jazz need, Larkin has the offensive game we need but is so short I worry about his D. I would love to see all 3 play against each other in a workout.
I think Big Al and Paul will end up somewhere else next yr , so we do need a 3rd big, I’d probably go for Plumblee at this point, he is mature and more ready to contribute, Dieng also would be decent and more ready to contribute now. Gobert is long and intriguing but I don’t know if he will ever get big weight wise, Adams has alot of developing to do , but he may end up the best of these 4.
If I was the GM and making the choice , I would go for Giannis, at this point from what I have seen I love his game and his potential, I know I would be drafting on potential and that is very risky but with the 21st pick I’d do it, I think he’d be worth the risk.
By the time the draft gets here alot will probably change and the Jazz never really give out much info, so who know what will actually happen.

Utah should definitely take the best SCORERS available. They are a solid young team with a lot of versatile players but lack a true go-to scorer on the perimeter. I’d look into taking Shabazz if he slides or KCP. The draft is surprisingly deep at PG so they can still find a solid guard with potential at the 21st and 46th picks (McCallum, Kabongo, Larkin etc)
