I was just curious on everyone’s opinion on some of UT’s NBA prospects. I have really enjoyed watching freshman PG Isaiah Taylor. Averge height for a PG, he is able to take most defenders off the dribble it seems. He needs to work on his shot, shooting .28% from 3 and .41% FG. He’s avg 12.5PPG 3.6AST and 3.1RPG. If he keeps improving his game, I think he can be one of the top PGs in college his JR year.

Also, Cameron Ridley has been playing very well this year. Averaging 10.9PPG, 8.1RPG along with 2.3BLK. Only being a sophomore, I think he also has plenty of room to improve if he wants to play in the league. I think he is on the right path now though, just keep on the conditioning.

    What’re yall’s opinions?

I agree that Taylor should be ready as a Junior, that seems about right, although his stats  are quite good for a freshman and he could end up having a big year next year. I think Ridley also needs to come back for another year, and put in a bit of work on his body, but I feel like if he does that he could go in the 1st round potentially.

What does everyone think about Prince Ibeh? I know some people were high on him before but he hasn’t gotten much playing time. If he still considered a potential 1st rounder some day?

I agree hes putting up some good stats and I do think he will have a great year next year. I’m excited to see the growth of this team, I don’t think they have a senior on the team or anyone leaving for the league. I think Ridley can average a double/double next year if he keeps putting in work, as well as being the defensive anchor.

I really like Prince Ibeh, hes been great this year when he gets minutes as a weak side defender. He should get more minutes next year and be able to show us what he can do. He’s averaging 1.9BPG while only playing 14 minutes a game. He has very good potential on the defensive side. Ridley and Ibeh starting down low next year would be a nice defensive frontcourt. Although i’ve been very impressed with Connor Lammert this year as well.

after watching the game last night, i thought about posting about the idea of isiah taylor being a prospect.  i think he’s got a lot of tj ford in his game but he’s a little bigger and has more of an eye for getting to the rim.  love his game though, so smooth.

as far as ridley, he reminds me of dexter pittman.  think he can be a servicable role player in the nba, but i think he’ll struggle with the speed of the game.  the days of the slow, big centers seem to be dwindling.

jonathan holmes is another guy that could be a 4 year player that sneaks in the 2nd round as a stretch 4.

prince ibeh has great size and potential.  time will tell on him.  conner lammert may be a surprise in a couple years too.  he has stretch ability, plays with a chip on his shoulder.

time will tell on the rest of the freshman class.  yancy-harris got all the hype.  croaker put himself on the map with athleticism against unc but is an undersized sg.  martez walker may end up being the best of the bunch.  not sure how they’ll turn out because they seem to be sharing minutes behind felix, taylor and holland.

yes, i’m a texas fan and probably listed 75% of the roster.  reality is that everyone listed will be undrafted except taylor and ridley, but i’m just happy to see them back in the top 25 after the last few years…

To see some other UT fans. I agree it has been a lot more enjoyable watching their games now that they’re playing better. I do like Jonathan Holmes game, he has been improving a lot. I think he could be a second round pick as well, maybe something similar to What Hamilton has been in the NBA. I’m really hoping they keep up their good play and contend with Kansas for the big 12 title this year.
