Watching the USA basketball game vs. Russia and here are a few of my thoughts

Although not the Redeem Team, IMO this team should still win the Gold Medal and anything less would be a failure. I actually enjoy watching this team play more than the Redeem Team because it is all my favorite players who are at their best when playing high pressure full court game. They are an extremely exciting team

Russell Westbrook has had the biggest impact on this game and when at his best can be as valuable as anyone else on this team. I remember at the 2008 scouting combine when International Scouts could not understand how Derrick Rose was being viewed as a better prospect than Westbrook. Westbrooks defense is incredible.

The USA team is at its best when it is constantly making substitutions keeping the energy high and constanstly putting pressure on the opponnents.

In the beginning of the game the Team was relying too much on 1-1 iso from the top of the key, not a recipe for success. Their half court offense is still a big weakness and will continue to be without any reliable post player

This team should win the gold, and I believe they will

After watching the worlds I am very convinced rose or Westbrook are third options at pg for the olympics. To be honest neither have been very impressive but on awhole Westbrook as been more productive then rose especially on defense were rose has been pretty bad. Neither player seems to be shooting better then they did last year and I wouldn’t take either over cp3 or dwill

as far as the team they are playing better then I thought. I love how billups has stepped up and is a threat from long range as well as gordan
the next game will be a pretty good test
