The8thDeadlySinParticipantI made a post earlier about WVU entering next season in the top 25 and being a Sweet Sixteen or higher team but that took a huge hit today.
Eron Harris (17 PPG), sophomore guard, announced that he is transferring. Yall know, if you remember, Eron was probably my favorite player and really was Juwans only help most nights. I dont know what to think. I hope we find a way to still be successful but my pessimistic side is coming out.. I dont think we will be what i predicted now..
Now i feel like this will push Juwan Staten to leave early for the NBA or transfer for his senior year because he will graduate this year.. Idk how much yall know about him but he was the Big 12 leader in points and assists. He has a 40+ inch vertical and is quite possibly the fastest player in the nation. He is the kind of guy that will go from a late second round pick to a late first round pick with workouts. He will get a chance in the league but it will hurt the Eers chances to be good, much less great like i predicted..
As a Mountaineer, i am used to disappointments but this one is really troublesome. Im starting to think that it is a proble with Huggins. I dont want to doubt him but thats where my mind goes. We still have some nice young talent if Staten leaves but im tired of having youth and a motto that WVU has lived by is "wait till next year."

TarHeelRavenParticipantI feel you man, I haven’t followed West Virginia since John Beilein and the Pittsnoggle days. Coincidentally, that’s the best name in the history of college basketball. I’ve never liked Bob Huggins ever. He just seems like a first class jerk and is a guy I would never want my son to play for, Bobby Knight being the other. These transfers might be the beginning of the end for Huggy Bear in Morgantown.

JoeWolf1Wow, that’s a big blow. My mind immediately went to Huggins, because it’s rare for a guy to leave, who is such a focal part of the team, like Harris. I’ve heard Staten could just be testing the waters, with there being a chance he’ll withdraw his name.
Still, I fully agreed with your post placing WVU in the top 25 next year, but without Staten or Harris…I’m not thinking so.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantLooks like Staten is leaving. Nobody has seen him around campus. Hasn’t been in class.
Amazing, we went from returning the higest scoring backcourt in the Big 12 to not having a PG on the roster that has ever started a game and a promising SG that is always injured..
Feels like a kick in the balls..

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThnx RUDEBOY! But, unfortunatly, this is life as a Mountaineer. Things look great, like they are turning around for good and something stupid happens. Oh well. I guess i have to hope that Huggs can figure it out..
