This year has been great for many upperclasssment that have been on many draft boards over the years, but there was still question about whether they could make it in the league.  Some have answered those questions with there play, while others have performed well even though their future is still in question. What do you guys think of some of the following players and their future in the NBA, or if they have one. Also, feel free to mention anyone else.

    Guards:

    • Malcolm Brogden, UVA
    • Anthony "Cat" Barber, NC State
    • Denzel Valentine, Michigan State
    • Wayne Selden, Kansas
    • Josh Hart, Villanova
    • Fred Van Vleet, Wichita State
    • Ron Baker, Wichita State
    • Tyler Ulis, Kentucky
    • Caris Levert, Michigan
    • Grayson Allen, Duke

    Bigs/Forwards

    • Brice Johnson, UNC
    • Jarrod Uthoff, Iowa
    • Tauren Prince, Baylor
    • Rico Gathers, Baylor
    • Nigel Hayes, Wisconsin
    • Jaron Blossomgame, Clemson
    • Damian Jones, Vandy
    • AJ Hammonds, Purdue

Damien Lee from Louisville is guy that  i believe definitely has a future in the league and could be a solid role player for a long time. Hes a solid outside shooter, good defender and tough competitor. Coincidentally, he actually reminds me quite a bit of another Lee, Courtney Lee.

     Allen is a true sophomore.

Pretty good list, I might add Monte Morris, Kevin Punter and Yogi Ferrell at guard and Georges Niang, Perry Ellis, Michael Young and Ryan Anderson to the forwards. I assume guys like Hield and Dunn aren’t listed because they’re seen as top ten picks.

In the era of one and dones I was coming up with my All-American first and second teams the other day and noticed that my entire first team was seniors (Moody, Valentine, Hield, Uthoff, Johnson) and my second team had four upperclassmen as well.

A lot of juniors and seniors are having breakthrough campaigns this year and have developed their game over their college careers. They should definitly have boosted their draft stocks. Guys like Niang, Brogdon, Prince, and Blossomgame look like they might be able to crack the first round or go at the top of the second with their blend of defensive ability, versatility and shooting.

Size be damned, Tyler Ulis has consistently been one of the most impressive players all season long. I really think he’ll be picked up in the second round and contribute off the bench in the league. I’d like to say the same for Stefan Moody and Kay Felder but there aren’t too many teams out there willing to invest in a 5-9 or 5-10 prospect.

I really like Lavert and feel like he could be a top 20 pick, hopefully he recovers from his leg injury soon.

I also feel like Valentine could crack the top 20 as well.

I’m much higher on Monte Morris than most people I’ve talked to. I definitly think he’s capable of cracking the first round.

I don’t see Nigel Hayes getting drafted, he’s been a bit exposed this year as the focal point of the Nebraska attack. Playing 36 minutes per game, averaging just 5.6 RPG and despite scoring 16.4 PPG he’s shooting a woeful 38% from the field. He’s also not much of a defender.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Baker and Van Vleet didn’t get drafted. Despite their team success to years ago, and their respective skill and savvy, their size/athleticism has always been questioned. They also really haven’t shown a whole lot of improvement over the last couple years. I think Van Vleet will be picked in the late second and Baker won’t be selected at all.

Edit: For Nigel Hayes I meant to say Wisconsin not Nebraska but I couldn’t edit my post after I put it up.

Uthoff should be interesting to see where he ends up going in the draft.  He seems like a nice stretch 4 who will be able to protect the rim a little in the league.

He has the vertical athleticism but isn’t laterally quick enough to defend 3s on a regular basis.  But as a stretch 4 I think he’ll be noice

Watched Josh Hart alot in the summer, this guys get it done. And he is big very strong guard..shoots it from deep can drive andfinish at the rim. Very underrated. Tighten up his handle and he is a top 20 guy. I wish i could strech tyler ulis to 6’1 that dude can play but the days of the very small guard are gone.
