Some underrated college bigs. By bigs I mean combo forwards, 4’s, and 5’s. Also I am not saying that they will be good NBA guys, just guys who deserve some recognition and should get a look for the NBA. I would also like to mention that there were so many guys to choose from for this list so some guys who are very underrated in their own right are being left out. I wish I could add more but having 12-15 guys would just make the post too cluttered and longer than it needs to be.
Jae Crowder, Marquette– Combo forward with a good inside/outside game. He can step out and hit jumpers and bang under the basket. His main weakness is his lack of size which will hurt if he is to play in the NBA.
Arsalan Kazemi, Rice– He averaged 15 and 11 for Rice last year in just under 30 mins a game. He also made 6.1 free throws a game which shows his ability to get fouled and hit foul shots, but his best skill is his rebounding. His rebounds per 40 is 14.8.
Reggie Johnson, Miami Fl– A big bodied center who improved significantly from freshman to sophomore year, Johnson shot 59% from the field. This is a name to file for 12-13 since he is hurt for most of this year but he is a nice player none the less.
Reeves Nelson, UCLA– One of the most underrated players in the country, 13.9ppg and 9.1rpg as a sophomore last year. 12 double doubles last year and shot a respectable 57% from the field.
Cleveland Melvin, DePaul– He is a very talented combo forward who has a nice mid range game. He was the main option for Depaul last year as a freshman averaging 14ppg. That number should increase to around 18ppg this year.
Gorgui Dieng, Louisville– He played well in a reserve big man role last year. Shot 62% from the field and is a long shot blocker (1.9blks). Dieng is pretty foul prone, he averaged 2.2fouls in 15mins.
Deep sleeper
Gilvidas Biruta, Rutgers– Solid as a frosh last year but fouls way too much, he has a nice back to the basket game and can score inside but his huge weakness is his fouling frequency. He also has a decent perimeter game that he didn’t show last year.

ilike.panochasParticipantI think Quincy Acy is pretty underrated. He reminds me of Jason Maxiel when he was in Cincinnatti.

Lotto StudParticipantNo Tarik Black? Tarik Black = UNDERRATED "BIG"….This guy has tons & tons of potential to dominate the post game. I just hate the fact that he is so undersized which will be a knock on his prospects.

providencefriars1ParticipantMcBased, I am not a big Jon Kreft guy especially with Gibson, James, and White taking playing time in the frontcourt. He did nothing last year and seemed pretty stiff and awkward in the post.
