The UnderKanter 2nd Mock
Here is a look at my 2nd mock. Please make comments, I respect them all and will decide whether or not to them into consideration. I have changed my mock several times since I first posted. That what makes this draft so much fun, I think. I think I about have it to the point where I am pleased and satisfied. I might change one more time, but I will for sure post it again one more time before the draft.
Accept for McLmore at 2 instead of Oladipo I like your top 13 but as a Jazz fan I think they will go big at 14, I personally llike Larkin and would be OK with the Jazz taking him at 14 but I just don't think they will go that direction. (if Schroder is available they could take him at 14 too, but I don't think they will) , this draft is so interesting because there are so many players that according to the tier system are fairly equal in talent and ability , so it is a what do you personally like type of a draft. At 21 I personally don't like Snell, I watched him since his freshman yr at New Mexico and although he's a pretty good shooter and has good physical attributes , I don't see that he is a hard worker or has a good motor. In your draft Plumblee, Gobert and Withey are still available at 21 and I think they would grab one of them even if they took Larkin at 14.
It would be nice to watch in the war room and hear what they are thinking and talking about. I personally would love it if they Jazz woiuld take Giannis even at 14 if necessary .
I used to agree with you Scliddiard, that the Jazz would take a big man at 14 and then a point at 21, but I've heard for the past 3 weeks that the Jazz are enamored with Larkin. When they brought him in for workouts he had previously gone to Boston and Milwaukee. Both teams pick before the Jazz at 21, but after the Jazz at 14. Then I heard the Utah is willing to take Larkin at 14 to ensure that they get him. Which means that they reason to think that Larkin will be gone by 21. I do think its reasonable. After all Burke will probably either 2, 6, or 7. MCW could go 8 or 15 (i'm thinking 8) McCollum could go 8 or 11(I'm thinking 11), and as you said Shroeder is not the best pick for them, yet he too could be picked at 13. So if I'm right, then Burke, McCollum, MCW, and Schroeder could all be gone by 13. Now I do believe that this situation is not likely, but regardless, it does seem possible that Larkin is the best point guard available by 14.
Now for the 21st pick, thank you for your comments. I originally had a big man at 21. I still think its possible the Jazz could take a big man. I think I might change that pick back to Withey. Plumlee may be the best out of those 3, but for the Jazz, Withey is the best. Now I would love it if Olynyk were still available but I don't think he will last till 21.
