UNC vs Texas
You guys watching this game?
Barnes has a nice stat line..but im watching him like fifth time this season and i start to be sure him won't be go-to guy
all this post finnally i saw the different Harrison, huge game for him
It went pretty much as expected. Usually I can't stand Jay Bilas (though I like him better than some college basketball commentators. *Cough* Dickey V), this game was little different, but he was right that NC should have been up by much more. It is kind of crazy that Henson and Zeller give up so many offensive rebounds. Barnes was the best I have seen him this year, but he still settles on the perimeter far too often.
Kabongo must have been hurt, but he did just about nothing. I still like him, but it was just disappointing to not see he and Marshall go at it with their contrasting styles. J'Covan Brown can stroke, but I saw some site (believe it was CNNSI, or even ESPN) commenting on his PG skills. Do not really see it.
NC killed them, but I still expected more. Will be interesting to see if they become more cohesive in ACC play.
Kabongo looked awful tonight. He usually is turnover prone and raw, but he looked overwhelmed and did a terrible job setting up offense and getting the ball in the right spots. He was ineffective in this one. Kabongo is a bad shooter right now too. He's a big talent as a pure PG, but he has to improve at just about every aspect of the game and add polish
McClellan for Texas is nice too. He's not quite there yet, but he really is a nice little guard with upside as a scorer. He's a solid athlete.
I think J'Covan Brown is an impressive shooter, but I just do not like his body language or his effort on D most times. He's not a PG at all either, I don't think who said that lol. He doesn't look to pass very much at all.
Kendall Marshall is amazing. Best PG in the nation in my eyes. He is usually the best UNC player on the floor and he does it without shooting or scoring much at all.
Harrison Barnes rose to the occasion after basically sleepwalking against the cupcakes they've played recently. He scored very well and contributed live defense and rebounding. He struggles with his handle still, but he did look to attack more and he finished strong around the rim when he looked to score in that area.
PJ Hairston is a HUGE offensive talent that no one is talking about. He averages 8 ppg in 12 mpg. Thats a crazy rate. He has a real sweet shot, a prototype body at 6'6 220, and solid athleticism. He had a poster tonight too.
Strickland played tough D and looked aggressive attacking the rim as usual. He also had a poster on Kabongo at the beginning of the night.
John Henson played strong too. He was live and really finished with authority using his length and athleticism on the offensive glass.
I'm not a big fan of Kendall Marshall either but he showing me something every game... J'Covan can flat out score, but I wish he had a better feel for the game... They said he has PG skills because he do... He's averaging more assists than the "better/pure PG" on his team... It's just when he gets that scoring mentaility, he's going to do it and not passing it to anyone... I wish he would watch Chris Paul more often and become his clone... Coming out of HS he reminded me so much of him in the way he scores... He has the vision just don't use it... SMH... Could easily be one of the top players in the country... But his favorite player is TO... Yes you read that right... fawking Terrell Owens who plays football not basketball so you see where his head is...
Harrison looks has added a little muscles..wouldn't be suprised if he is in 230s' now
Hairston is a beast... next year he will be the best player for UNC
