Kentucky is way bigger and more athletic than UNC, but they have absolutely no offensive system. Who ever brings the ball up is the one who drives it to the rim, hoping to get fouled. It’s kinda hard to watch.

not sure what you see when you say "WAY" bigger and "WAY" more athletic.  not true, UNC is one of the most athletic and big teams in the country, thats how they beat Louisville and Michigan State.

McAdoo and Johnson are great athletes and Tokoto is elite.  James is 6’10" and over 250.  Britt and Paige are quick/fast guards.  They also play a big lineup sometimes with Meeks and Johnson up front, McAdoo at SF, and Paige and Tokoto at guard.

WCS and Poythress are UK’s most athletic players, everyone else is average…with Randle being maybe above average athletically for a guy his size.

Kentucky was in the bonus with 15 minutes left (!!!!!). Just amazed they’re losing this game, even with foul trouble early on.

well, the big thing tonight was, he hit some FTs.  his athleticism shows up.  he was hard to stop from driving to the basket….even though he cant really go left.  also, his defensive quickness was able to keep Randle in check.  Randle really couldnt do much outside of the paint.

@surve, UNC has size. But seeing Andrew Harrison and Randle bull their way into the paint seemed like they had the physical edge on the Tarheels.

Calipari needs to control his guards more if they want to start winning again. Andrew Harrison and James Young both took more shots than Julius Randle and only shot a combined 6-21 from the field. Harrison only made an atrocious 10-17 free throws as well. UNC only made 57% of their free throws on 45 attempts and they still won. Give WCS some touches in the paint as well. He is not a flashy offensive player, but he is an athletic finisher who takes high-percentage shots- which is what Kentucky needs right now.

McAdoo defended Randle very well on the perimeter. Randle is still doing the whole "five pump fakes and jab steps before I make a move" that usually results in turnovers or low-percentage shots. If he stayed in the paint more, then he is very difficult for even someone with McAdoo’s combination of strength, speed, and athleticism to guard.

Randle isolating at a crucial point late in the 2nd half, only to brick a 15-footer….sigh. I forget who he tried to take off the dribble, but you couldn’t make a worse play in that situation.
