UNC v. Vandy on ESPN2
It is slower I'd say. The change of tempo is unexpected too, and I think it should fit Kendall Marshall better than I thought and makes it more likely that he'll get more time at the PG spot than I thought. Especially since Larry Drew just isn't the answer.
UNC still isn't back to the elite level everyone thought. They still don't have a clearcut leader or experienced player, and it shows. They can get real unorganized on the court (like right now).
Jeffrey Taylor is carrying Vandy. He's improved his shooting range SUBSTANTIALLY too. Waiting for John Jenkins to get loose and make his jumpers. His shot is still taking time to get back to elite level at the start of this season. I'm sure he'll get it to come around though.
Jeffery Taylor is dominating on both ends. He had one sexy block on a Harrison Barnes dunk attempt, and followed that by blocking the ever-feisty little scamp Dexter Strickland on the fast break. Dude is shooting an OBSCENE 70% from behind the arc thus far in the season.
John Henson just air-balled a free throw. He has potential up the yang, but needs to develop his jump-shot, decision-making and strength.
Harrison Barnes is slippery. Slippery like the 1st overall pick this season? I think so.
Yeah I never liked UNC at #8. I see them around 15-20 though as the season goes on.
Tyler Zeller has looked impressive. He has some nice hands and feet, and he shows outstanding touch. Also rebounds well. Just needs to continue to get stronger.
UNC has been a big disappointment to me so far this season. I'm a big UNC fan and I know its early, but their play vs Vandy was horrible. I spent at least 3/4 of the game cussing my tv out, mainly Larry Drew with his inconsistancy and Roy Williams with his subbing players in at the wrong time. Barnes needs to stay another year or 2 imo also
I thought Zeller could be their second-best player going into the season, but to this point he has been the most impressive guy on that team. I am still a believer in Barnes because of his great work ethic, but this team still gives me that impression like last year that they cannot close out a game. I'd like to think they can improve substantially over the course of the year but we'll see. I would feel a lot better about them if we knew a guy like Barnes would stick around for a few years and this group could gain experience together but that's not likely.
Early, but I like UNC in this game. I expect it to be close though.
