UNC The Best Fit For Andrew Wiggins

I think Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels provide Andrew Wiggins with the best destination to go to, to excel as a player and possibly win a NCAA championship...His abilities is better suited for a fast pace uptempo style of play, which is how UNC plays...He has a playmaker in Marcus Paige, an athletic shot blocking center in Joel James who also runs the floor well, a side kick/inside presence in James McAdoo, 3 point shooters in P.J. Hairston & Leslie McDonald, and overall a deep talented team with 3 players from the incoming freshman class coming abroad as well...Wiggins could have a "Carmelo Anthony" type season at UNC...Plus how sweet would it be to go against his rival, Jabari Parker, next door, at Duke...Would make a interesting fun collegiate season of Wiggins chooses to play for North Carolina

Like the way ya think but if

Like the way ya think but if you want nothing for the best for him then send him to Kentucky, lots of compitition, best collectin of talent on one team and a real shot at winning conference and national title at best. UNC is good too like you said but its just not his best chance, but if he goes there Wiggins would have to put forth more energy and even risk getting exposed at times as a player and the same could happen if he goes to Kansas and both could result in title runs. If he gies to Florida st all his exposures would be forgiven simply b/c they wouldn't have as much talent and no sure chance to play for titles.

I like Michigan with McGary

I like Michigan with McGary inside and Wiggins and Glenn Robinson at forward then Spike and Stauskas with LaVet
in the backcourt.

Louisville would be a great fit too with Behanan at the 4, Wiggins at the 3 and Russ Smith (if he comes back)
and Kevin Ware (if he can get healthy) in the backcourt. Then they still have Hancock and Blackshear off the bench.

I completely agree. Once

I completely agree. Once Bullock declared & McAdoo decided to come back this situation just looks that much more ideal. Him & PJ would be a great wing duo. McAdoo the x-factor & I believe he'd thrive not having to be the guy offensively. Paige sets the table. Then bench depth with players like McDonald, Brice Johnson, Tokoto, plus whatever they get from the other incoming recruits. That's a championship caliber team. Factor in Duke/Parker and it's even more intriguing

Michigan isnt out of the

Michigan isnt out of the question, its only a 4 and half hour drive from Wiggins home in Toronto. Last year McGary was going to Florida than changed his mind at the last second, which turned out pretty good. I also heard Jalen Rose has been in regular contact with Wiggins recently. Hmmmm

Nope. I disagree completely.

Nope. I disagree completely. Hopefully Wiggins will learn from the Barnes situation that Roy Williams and his system won't help his stock or teach him anything useful.

Pierce and Barnes are just two SFs whose skills/athleticism were hidden under Williams, and their draft stock fell as a result.

Going into the draft, everyone was talking about how unathletic Barnes was, that he was strictly a shooter and MKG was more athletic.

Fast forward to now and Barnes is a pogo-stick in the NBA, gets regular dunks off alley-oops and cuts, thrives in transition and does his work in the half-court from the post - all things which were obscured under Williams.

Williams likes to pack the paint, play through his bigs and PG, and his wings are relegated to shooters or strictly transition players.

I still like FSU for Wiggins, his defensive effort remains the biggest hole in his game and if nothing else, FSU will give him an education in that department.

Offensively, FSU will also prepare Wiggins for being a first option in the NBA where he'll be the focal point of every team's defensive efforts and without much help at FSU, he'll learn to overcome these issues, instead of coasting offensively at the other three schools which are loaded with talent.

I'm a UNC fan, but Wiggins is better off going to FSU - it's a shame Parker went to Duke, because that would have been an ideal landing place for Wiggins.

Wow!!!!!

@omphalos. No real unc fan would say wiggins is better of at fsu, an acc rival. First off, it's not true, he would have to do literally everything himself, and your supposed to be a quote Carolina fan. Come on man!!!!

It's better for Wiggins,

It's better for Wiggins, obviously it's not better for UNC.

Wiggins needs to learn how to do everything himself, because that's what he'll be doing in the NBA, so why wait?

Wiggins

Do everything by himself? Where in the NBA would he do everything by himself? Everyone in the NBA can play some are better than others but no team in the NBA has only one guy doing everything.

another thing

wiggins is a different player than Harrison barns. wiggins is way more athletic than barns ever was or ever will be, and wiggins drives the lane more than barnes because of a quicker first step.

With all the questions

With all the questions surrounding his effort and ability to lock in on playing...you never know if he'll actually step up at FSU. Any of the other schools, he could take a back seat and still be the #1 pick.

Disclaimer: I'm a Canadian so I'm rooting for the kid and had the priviledge of watching him play live at the Hoop Summit. You definitely get the feeling at times he doesn't even want to be on the court. I understand it's part of his demeanor, but you're the #1 ranked player in America, there should be some fire each time you're out there.
