UCLA

Now that UCLA has a star studded recruiting class, along with very strong cast of returning players, and now add in the fact they have a little bit of a situation on their hands with Ben Howland and his former players is Howlands job on the line this year if they don't win it all? This has to be the best recruiting class he has ever had and has 3 starters returning and a transfer guard Larry Drew coming in to boot. On a level of 1-10 how hot is Ben's seat this year? Or is it at all? I would say he needs to at least make the final 4 to not get fired.

I wouldn't say that, Calipari

I wouldn't say that, Calipari didn't take UK to a final 4 his 1st yr with the top recruiting class(although he was close, elite 8) I think as long UCLA has a good regular season, top of the pac12, he'll be safe. Afterward there will be pressure to win a title/final 4.

if they are ranked top 10

if they are ranked top 10 most the year and finish either 1 or 2 in the pac 12 and make the sweet 16, it will be hard to fire him. Obviously the goals for this year are much higher and ucla would love to win it all. But this is a team relying heavily on freshmen and i think saying final 4 or fired is tough. The real key is to not go through any more bad spurts like these last few years and to get the team to stay consistently near the top year after year.

True, True to both of you. So

True, True to both of you. So niether of you think the small amount of turmoil that has brewed up recently about Howland will have any effect on the team this year?

On a scale of 1-10, I think

On a scale of 1-10, I think it's a 9, especially since that report came out about him not having any control over his players. That type of behavior has John Wooden rolling over in his grave.

I think the turmoil from last

I think the turmoil from last year will not play much of an effect if they win, if they loose some games it'll come up and could be an issue, but winning cures all and I think UCLA will be winning next year
