Easy to understand why he would declare now. Really has nothing to go back for. I think he’ll have an impact in the league but I don’t see him as a franchise starter or anything

…selfishly don’t wanna see their budding stars declare this early but you can’t blame the guy.  He’s had all the success one could hope for at the college level, turned in a decent season and he is what he is in the eyes of NBA scouts.  Unless he’s gonna come back next year dunking on people averaging 25pts and 10ast his stock isn’t gonna go up.  Each year he comes back the less "upside" he has.  He made the right decision and will have a solid career.  People throw around "decent starter" but I think all star is in the cards it’s just not a gurantee.  People assume just cause he doesn’t have DRose, Russell Westbrook, John Wall speed and atheletcism that he can’t be a great pg.  After those 3 who else is really like them???

It’s more of the combination of his size, athleticism, and ball-handling that makes it hard to picture him being more than a good backup or an okay starter.  If you look at all the PGs in the NBA, the only one that’s been semi-productive that is as small as he is while also being an average at best athlete and not having an elite handle is DJ Augustin, and that’s not exactly a huge endorsement.

He’s a better prospect than Tyler Ennis was (who he’s often compared to), but I don’t really see him being anything special at the next level.  I hope I’m wrong because he’s one of my favorite high school and college players to come around in years, but I just don’t see it.

I would love for my Jazz to select him at 12 or 13 but we need an offensive bigman who can play some D. (someone like Frank Kaminsky)

I have him slotted to go mid first round, (I think to the Bulls as Rose’s backup) One of my favorite college players. Love watching him play. He plays the game the way it should be played.

You’d really want the Jazz to draft a third point guard in a row in the lottery?
