ChosenOneParticipantWho does Tyreke Evans compare to? I can’t put my finger on who plays like him with his size.

festar35ParticipantA lot of people were comparing him to Larry Hughes. I see a bit of Brandon Roy there myself.

JNixonParticipantA young Larry Hughes. Also has some Aaron McKee in his game too from his younger days.

ChosenOneParticipantI never heard that one but I did hear the larry hughes comparisons. I think he has way better handles than him and is a bit more physical.

ChosenOneParticipantThe rate at which he has gotten to the free throw line since kevin martin got hurt is crazy.

MkadozaParticipantA more guard oriented Paul Pierce or a healthy young Larry Hughes. He has better ball handling, good defensive fundementals, and is extremely hard to stop because he can operate in a variety of ranges. He’s no where near the shooter yet, but he’s a smart player with a strong body, draws contact and will look to have a complete and versitile game by the time his career is through. I dont know if he’ll ever be more than streak shooter like Hughes, but he could compete for all defensive teams and will always get to the line. He’s just crafty like Pierce and shifty like Hughes in his prime.
Brandon Roy came to mind as well and Aaron McKie would be a basement level. And I agree Evans is stronger than Hughes but don’t underestimate Hughes ball handling skills. He could legit play point guard at times and was perfect playing next to Arenas for that reason, as he could drive and kick to initiate offense as well.

boffacheeriosParticipantwithout the defense? are you kidding me? I’m sure he’s not at that level yet, but the guy has a 7 foot wingspan and has the quickness to guard point guards and the size to guard forwards. westphal has already said that tyreke is the best defender on the team (i know, it’s the kings) at the 1, 2, or 3.

TheFutureofthisgameParticipantFor a rookie Tyreke is a great defender, he has the size ,athleticism and quickness to defend three positions. Thats big for a rookie to do. He has good body control when finishing, can get to the rim at will and is a decent jump shooter. He is a smart player like Paul Pierce and that is a fair comparison so I say Paul Pierce minus the jump shot.

quincey hodgesyeah without the defense..had this discussion before..hes not a great defender right now..just about everyone checked went over there average..he could eventually be a very good defender..i dont see him like brandon roy though..roy could shot that midrange pretty well and was/is more athletic…hes like a young less athletic larry hughes
