Amen dcase.  He is a good prospect but he is not a one and done guy.  Especially in the 2014 draft class.  He better stay healthy too because the Orange have zero depth at the point.

To be honest they don’t have much depth at either guard spot.  After Ennis and Cooney there is only Gbinije.  I know they have Ron Patterson, but he isn’t likely to contribute this year.  On the other hand they are stacked along the front line (Fair, Grant, Christmas, Coleman, Keita)…..shoot Tyler Roberson doesn’t even get off the bench.  I am looking forward to watching this team get bettter and better as the year goes on.  If Ennis and Cooney can keep up their play, the Cuse can make some serious noise in the tournament.

You are 100% correct.  Over in Maui they had Gbinije play a little point and he clearly was not comfortable doing that.  If anything Fair might be their next best ball handler.  If they can keep the backcourt healthy, they will be a tough out in the tourney and that is all you can ask for.

 Fair is not a good ball-handler at all.  He loses the ball pretty much anytime he takes more than 3 dribbles.  Gbinije has been a little shaky with it too, but he, Cooney, and probably the freshman guards (Patterson and Johnson) are better ball-handlers than CJ.

Ennis is listed at 6’2", but he seems smaller than that to me just from seeing him around campus and stuff.  And I don’t think he has NBA athleticism at all.  I think his 35% from 2 point range kinda shows that.  He’s going to have a very hard time scoring inside in the NBA because he really struggles vertically.  I think he’ll have to get a lot quicker, and become more aggressive if he wants to be a 1st round pick someday.  I’m also hoping that he’ll get out and run the fast break more as the season goes on.  Right now, he’s been really hesitant/it seems like everyone is able to catch up to him before he can capitalize on fast break opportunities.

We’ll see.  Regardless, as a Cuse fan, it’s exciting to see how much he’s already improved just from the first couple of games where he looked pretty disappointing IMO.  He’s playing great basketball right now.

 He’s definitely not one of those vocal/rah-rah kinda leaders (I think Cooney has surprisingly become that guy for SU this year), but I think Ennis is one of those guys where he can be a great leader because he always looks like he’s calm, cool, and collected.  I think it works well for teammates to see their PG looking like he’s not worried or not too hyped up at all.  More of a leader by example type.

It would be really nice if DaJuan Coleman could step it up and claim that center spot as his own.  He’s the only big guy that can catch the basketball.  I’d really like to see them be able to run the pick-and-roll.

 Nice prospect. Perfect Euro PG, not so sure how he’ll fare against NBA caliber guards although his skill is undeniable. Reminds me a lot of Cory Joseph of San Antonio.
