He was amazing in college and I thought people were crazy when they were predicting he might not be a first round pick.  As a pro he’s making those 17 teams that passed on him look pretty dumb.  I think he’s in the 6-8 range of best pgs in the NBA.  His speed is incredible.

He’s probably closer to 10th at best. There are 7 great to elite PG’s in the NBA already. Although I do really like Lawson and I’m happy he’s playing well.

Ty Lawson is great, and Denver will need him to step up greatly both next series and next season.

He’s, at VERY best, the 7th best pg in the league (CP3, rose, rondo, parker, westbrook, nash) but ast Y2G said best, he’s closer to the 10th best

Lets not forget in his first season at Denver he played and learnt alot from Chauncey Billups both on and off the court which worked well for him, rather than being a lotto pick and being "expected" to come in and contribute immediately….

I guess some people don’t check this site very often, because I just posted something about Lawson two days ago.  Definitely a top ten PG, he’s impossible to keep out of the lane, his jumper has improved and his end to end speed is ridiculous.

 Lawson was one of the 3 or 4 most NBA ready players in his draft class.  The guy came off one of the greatest statistical seasons in the modern era of college basketball in 2008-2009 and won a title.  Since being in the NBA he has shot the ball well from 3 , the guy is shooting 50% and 39% respectively for his carreer despite being 5’11 and having short arms with a low release on his jumper , also he doesn’t turn the ball over.  Those that say he has worked on and improved his shot were not paying attention because the guy shot 47% as a Jr in college from 3 and has shot well in the NBAtoo.  Nobody noticed it really for nearly 2 seasons because he was playing behind Billups.

I love Lawson – one of my five favorite (obviously not best) 1s in the league, but 2 important notes while we freak out about  him eviscerating the Lakers.  1. As good as he looks, the Lakers haven’t been able to guard a speedy 1 in at least 3 seasons.  They all look great against them.  2. Lawson is yet another arguement that player development is extremely team dependent and that guys succeed, as always, and sorry I harp on this a lot, but it’s a draft site, the right spot and plan is every bit as important as the player himself a lot of the time.

I think most people would pick Irving. More skilled offenseively and is getting the nickname of "Mr. Fourth Quarter" in Cleveland.

He’s also 6 years younger and has more potential along with 4 more inches.

Ty Lawson is in the PERFECT system for him with bunch of great players around him to take the pressure off of him if need be. He also has had Chauncey Billups and also Andre Miller to learn from.

Kyrie Irving meanwhile has been putting up one of the most efficient rookie PG seasons since CP3 despite so many things going against him (the pressure of being the first #1 Cavs pick since Lebron, not being able to communicate with his coaches because of the lockout, being forced to sit out much of the lockout in fear of reinjuring his toe, and of course he only played 11 games in college).

Not to mention a third of the way into the season, teams started to gameplan their defense solely on Irving because they could layoff of the rest of his teammates.

I really love seeing all of these young PG’s develop. John Wall, Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, Rubio, and Kyrie Irving imo will all be top 5 caliber PG’s in a couple years.
