Tristan Thompson traded to the Raptors

Being that this is the slowest time for NBA fans I thought I just throw a fun but not realistic trade out there for discussion:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeld=96vfg4k

The Raps get 2 Canadians, a wannabe Canadian and the supposed player they gave a promise to before he shot up draft boards. Colangelo tried to acquire Joseph on draft night so you know they are interested and he would play both guard positions behind Lowry. They have also always had high praise for Thompson and his rebounding would be a great fit alongside Bargnani. Waiters could be the scorer off the bench they so badly need and Bonner adds to the outside shooting the sorely lacked last year.

The Cavs get a bonafide wing in Derozan to run with Irving, a slight downgrade at PF in Ed Davis right now but a player who might end up better in a few seasons not to mention depth thru aquiring Blair and a 10 million expiring contract. The Varejao trade helps with the rebuild and lets Zeller become the starter. I also figure Aaron Gray goes to Cleveland to fill the gap in the middle but he isn't include in the trade machine.

The Spurs load up to battle with the Lakers and Thunder by strengthening their front and backcourts. Varejao gives them more energy and toughness inside while Calderon provides injury insurance for Parker and a dependable backup/outside shooter.

I know this trade will never happen, I just wanted to get some thoughts.

That's the perfect way to

That's the perfect way to describe this thread.

I was shocked when I read the headline...please don't write your personal trade ideas as though they actually happened in the title.

*phew*

Lol you had me scared for a second there, I thought they had actually traded Tristan...

Trading both Waiters and Thompson? Not gonna happen. I also doubt they trade Varejao as I bet the Cavs aren't 100% sure they're ready to run with Zeller as their starting C. Ed Davis and DeRozan would draw some ire from the fan base as well as experts, because of DeRozan's lack of improvement last season.

For the Spurs, they could use Varejao, and Blair is already going to be traded, but Nando De Colo is coming in from overseas and Gary Neal already is a good backup. Plus Calderon can't defend, and that doesn't help the Spurs.

Mental illness is slowly but

Mental illness is slowly but surely becoming one of the last taboo topics in sports. The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that over 26 percent of American adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. It’s no coincidence that athletes around the sports world are beginning to come forward with revelations of their own battles with mental illness.

The trade of franchise point

The trade of franchise point guard Chris Paul last offseason netted the Hornets young and talented shooting guard Eric Gordon to go along with two top-10 overall draft picks accumulated this offseason. Each of those selections were used on players with high upside – first overall pick Anthony Davis and tenth overall pick Austin Rivers.
