I heard he measured 6'9" without shoes on. Could he move into the top 5?
In most assesments he is defined as having first round talent just not elite. Anyways he is seen more of as a project by most. im hoping he slids to charlotte and they pick him up. that way he can really be special.
I think he has a good chance at going #8 to the Pistons.
doesn't have enough offensive skills to warrant a top 5 pick
I agree that Detroit would be wise to grab an athletic big man with his talent and put him next to a more skilled but effective Greg Monroe. Their future front court would be Monroe, Thompson, and someone to replace Prince because I feel positive he will be leaving next season. Austin Daye could take that role if he gets stronger
maybe but definitely a top 8, i don't see him now fall below Detroit.
for sure will be big defensive force, he has great athletic ability, seems to have great frame to put on a lot more weight, hard worker, high level of competitiveness, he has very good understanding of the game, good instincts, offensively he is unpolish but i think could be solid on that also.
he always look to me like a legit 6'10" with shoes and i even said it before.
I could see Thompson being somewhat of a Kenyon Martin type player who would fit in nicely with the pistons since monroe and daye can space the floor.
Taj Gibson 2.0
i see Nene in him
He's becoming one of my favorite prospects in this draft. I actually like him as a prospect more than Derrick Favors compared when he was coming out. Favors has a stronger body, but Thompson matches Favors athletically and has a much further developed offensive game. I think he will be drafted somewhere in the 10-15 range, but I believe he will be one of the best players in this class when all said and done. He still a freshman coming out, so his body isn't even done developing, his upside is one of the most underrated in this class.
I don't think he matches up with Favors athletically, even remotely.
Can't believe he's taller than big Al, Stat and Horford, but if it's true, that's good for him...
He's somewhere beetween Taj and Ed Davis, Taj feat Ed Davis, depending on where he ends up.
Maybe the post D of Taj with Ed Davis numbers offensively, even if i think he hasn't his hands and touch around the basket.
Thompson can run and jump with Favors, the only difference is Favors has about additional 20lbs on him, which makes Favors more impressive physically. But both are on the same level athletically in my eyes, nonetheless.
