What are y'all's thoughts on the Wizards taking a chance on Burke and moving Wall to the 2 spot?
They already have Beal as a 2 and Wall is almost certainly a better PG right now than Burke will ever be. For the Wizards to do that, they would have to be way higher on Burke than everybody else.
Maybe its just me but I like the starting backcourt of Wall/Beal a lot better.
Wall looked really nice when he came back, his jumper was on point, John wall has sooooo much potential, imo he prolly has the most gifted body of all the great young PG's with his size and blinding speed. No way i see the Wiz taking burke, id see them trading the pick for a veteran before i see that. I'm one whos actually pretty high on Burke, his height and other limitations dont bother me as much as it does many others. i can tell you if i was the Magic or a team that was gonna draft a point, id take burke over MCW all day any day. I just think Burke can ball, he plays w alot of heart and i think hes got a good career ahead of him
No you do that for example if you get the #1 pick and there's a franchise changing player available. Not for Burke who I like but isn't a better prospect than obviously Wall or Beal.
One thing Ive noticed about Beal is he is a great spotup shooter. With a playmaker like Wall, they compliment each other well. Wall and Burke are both very ball-dominant. Just not a smart move imo.
I don't think so. Porter is a better fit and the better overall prospect IMO. And he should be available at #3.
that is honestly the dumbest thing I have ever seen written. Move Wall to the 2? and Beal to the 3? WTF? do you know anything about basketball or roster construction or are you a 9 year old that just figured out how to type on the internet for the first time??
I'm not getting any positive feedback and people are calling me dumb and what not so just forget that I posted this...I just wanted opinions not people to be jerks.
then act like you know something?
then act like you know something?
Dunno what you expect when you post such a ludicrous idea on an NBA forum.
If you didn't have anything to say about my original post why start in now?
21 thumb down is fine however a lot of people are too chicken to post anything about the subject.
Everyone already said it dude. The Wizards have a great starting backcourt of Beal and Wall, adding Burke makes no sense. None of those three could possibly guard at small forward.
Bottom line: Burke and Wall would not make a good starting backcourt. Barring a trade, they will not draft Burke. Personally, I think its gonna come down to Bennett or Porter at #3.
This might be THE worst post i have read on this site....
This is the absolute dumbest idea, even someone as dumb as GM Ernie Grunfeld... who chose Jan Vesely (which I predicted he would cause I've been a lifelong Washington Fan and I know how stupid Ernie is) , Javale, Randy Foye and Mike Miller over what could have been Ricky Rubio, Kawhii Leonard, and Roy Hibbert, wouldn't make this kind of move. They are going to do the smart move, get a young forward, Porter or Bennett, to pair with already young Wall and Beal and this is going to be a young team (with veteran help from Nene, Okafor,) that can make 6-8 seed in the playoffs next year and will improve slightly from year to year from now on. Stupid idiot Trey Burke haha
JordanC20's Theory on how to win NBA games......"take the ball out of the hands of the fastest player in the league and move him to SG even though he isn't a great shooter yet". Genius.
Wizards wont pick a PG or SG and maybe not even a SF at #3. Their looking at PF & C is my best bet. they might even try to trade down a little if they cant get Noel. I know Len and Zeller will be there. Porter might be a option at #3 also, if they go for a SF. Im not a fan of Bennett, he has the bust stamp from me already.
Dude, I understand that you wanted a conversation about the possibility of Trey Burk to Washington. But that's an idiotic comment based on the teams needs and where they have invested for the future. The Wizards have invested in their backcourt of Beal and Wall for the future. They have needs in the front court. Why then would they consider drafting a backcourt player in this weak draft? Especially a backcourt player who is not considered as the top prospect. With that said, the thumb up and thumb downs are a way of validating your credibility on the forum. If you post something as idiotic as this, your credibility should take a hit.
I would have Dauses way less damage for you if you had posted any reason why to do this. Wall > Burke and Beal also. The biggest nonsense here is to move a pg phenom to the sg position who still has to show he has a reliable shot for a whole season. You can make arguments that Brandon Knight should move to the 2 guard spot but not Wall who is a true playmaker and showed real progress contolling the tempo last year not always going full speed.
Sorry but the worst draft idea so far this year.
The Wizards could take him at 2 and trade him if they get a great offer. Who knows?
What if Detroit offered Brandon Knight, Kyle Singler, and the 8th pick?
Would the Wizards take that? Knight would be their third guard. Singler could be their shooter at the 3 spot and
they could go big at 8 with Cody Zeller or Kelly Olynyk if he is there or whoever else drops (Len, Bennett, etc.)
A haul of Knight, Singler, and Zeller would be with trading the number 2 pick for. They would have their three guard rotation, a good fit at the 3, and a legit big man for the future.
Detroit can then get Trey Burke as their point guard of the future to complement their inside guys. The Wizards might also need to send another bench guy or a 2nd round pick to Detroit to make this trade work but I think it would make sense for Washington.
This is the only plausible scenario where Trey Burke gets picked 3rd.
What the f***
