#11 pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers………. What made you think of Langdon???

Langdon missed 90% of his Rookie season after Knee Surgery…….. & played 3 seasons total w/ the Cavs but he was never able to displace Wesley Person as the starting SG…….. & left the NBA after the 2002 season…….

Langdon went to Europe & actually had one of the most successfull careers by Any American born Basketball player………….. by being an important member of Championship teams in 3 different Euro Leagues (Italy, Turkey & Russia)………….. Langdon avg about 15 ppg in Europe……..

But I’ll always remember Langdon at Duke for Two reasons:……… First, he grew up in Alaska & the stories of him shooting Jump shot in snow boots & gloves is a pwerful one……….

& Second, Langdon, b/c he was drafted by a major league baseball team & played for that team in the summer…….. could Not take a scholarship form Duke (b/c he was being paid) & was technically a "Walk On"…………..

    Great post….. That’s a trivia blast from the past……

I just thought of him as a comparison. glad to see duke players producing these days not like the bust we had in that era trajon, avery ,jay will, Sheldon ,Cherokee parks, carawell.lol

while we are jogging memory lane, anybody here old enough to remember Shawn Respert?  One of the best 2 guards in NCAA history.  Was the first player that I can remember bombing away from way beyond the three point line on a fastbreak.

Unbelievable college player. Probably every bit as good as jj redick. I think he averaged over 25 ppg as a senior.

Unfortunately he was diagnosed with stomach cancer his rookie year in the NBA and attempted to play through it without really making it public. This led to a lot of frustration about his failure to meet expectations in the NBA.
