NBAjunkie81Participant#11 pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers………. What made you think of Langdon???
Langdon missed 90% of his Rookie season after Knee Surgery…….. & played 3 seasons total w/ the Cavs but he was never able to displace Wesley Person as the starting SG…….. & left the NBA after the 2002 season…….
Langdon went to Europe & actually had one of the most successfull careers by Any American born Basketball player………….. by being an important member of Championship teams in 3 different Euro Leagues (Italy, Turkey & Russia)………….. Langdon avg about 15 ppg in Europe……..
But I’ll always remember Langdon at Duke for Two reasons:……… First, he grew up in Alaska & the stories of him shooting Jump shot in snow boots & gloves is a pwerful one……….
& Second, Langdon, b/c he was drafted by a major league baseball team & played for that team in the summer…….. could Not take a scholarship form Duke (b/c he was being paid) & was technically a "Walk On"…………..
Great post….. That’s a trivia blast from the past……

cabbycabParticipantwhile we are jogging memory lane, anybody here old enough to remember Shawn Respert? One of the best 2 guards in NCAA history. Was the first player that I can remember bombing away from way beyond the three point line on a fastbreak.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantUnbelievable college player. Probably every bit as good as jj redick. I think he averaged over 25 ppg as a senior.
Unfortunately he was diagnosed with stomach cancer his rookie year in the NBA and attempted to play through it without really making it public. This led to a lot of frustration about his failure to meet expectations in the NBA.
