Trade Micheal Beasly
Also we dont have are pick next season lets make a spalsh in this years draft cause its no telling what are luck will be in next years draft from Kahn's comments he made about it being fixed ( not actuallly what he said) but you know what he meant. So lets not rsk it and just take Enes Kanter and Williams two top 3 pick players. with Huge Potential still even in this weak draft.
I almost think they should draft Jonas Valanciunas, he's really the only pick that makes sense without trading Beasley, which I don't think they should do. Jonas could play behind Darko initially and if in a few years when Darko's contract is up he's ready to start then the Timberwolves will be in a great position going forward. I just don't see Williams as that much of an upgrade over Beasley going forward so it doesn't seem worth it to waste that pick.
I know Jonas is a reach, but it's probably either him or trading the pick, because their starting line-up is more or less set, although if anyone should be replaced it's Wesley Johnson, who simply doesn't impress me as a SG. Still, no trades should be made until Cleveland figure out who they are taking, because if Kyrie is available, no reason why the Timberwolves wouldn't grab him to force Rubio into signing with them or wallowing overseas indefinitely.
No if we sign Kyrie Irving ,. Ricky Rubio will not sign with us . And he will stay in Spain.
We need Derrick WILLIAMS he plays better defense then Micheal Beasly.
Why not trade the guy that plays weak defense.
Also Beasly needs to go He is still a good player but Williams is a better all around player. Beasly gotta go he take too many dumn shots and is a hot head. when calls go against him and he wants to take the light from Kevin Love. This is Love"s team, ANd he cant get all the rebounds everynight. So lets take Enes Kanter who can help Love with the rebounds .
Ricky Rubio is are guy
Williams and Kanter can really make us not worry about the draft anymore. And we dont have a pick for next year. So lets just take Enes Kanter and Derrick Williams.
are you freaking kidding. the jazz don't waste time with screw ups off the court. they like to have players off high character on their team and beasly doesn't fit the profile.
Line Up BENCH
rICKY rUBIO(4PICK) lUKE rIDNOUR
wESLY jOHNSON(3RDPICK) wAYNE eLLINGTON
dERRICK wILLIAMS*(2NDPICK) mARTELL wEBSTER
Kevin lOVE(5THPICK) aNTHONY rANDOLF
eNES kANTER*(3RDPICK) dARKIO mILIC
THIS WILL BE KAHN"S IDEA HE GIVEN US WHEN HE FIRST CAME IN. are whole starting line up will be full of top 5 pick players lol . =) i love it . the younger the better. And we have veteran"s in Martell Webster, and Luke Ridnour. We might can take a veteran Sg in free agency
I love your idea and I think it works out for every one except I don't think Beasley is a great fit in the Jazz organization. And even tho I am a huge Derrick Williams fan I am not sure if he is really more talented then Beasley. Sure he plays with more passion but Beasley is no slouch he's just a little goofy because he worked hard during last offseason and had a very solid year. With that said I would trade the 3rd pick in this years draft for Beasley in a heart beat. It is going to be interesting to see his combine numbers.
But you are most certainly right that the Wolves cannot have Beasley and Williams on their team because that would mean their 3 best players are 6/9 power forwards which is just not acceptable. But if their is not movement I would strongly advise the Wolves to just draft Kanter 3rd. And I wouldn't write in Irving as the top pick just yet because both Williams and Kanter could go their. If the Cavs aren't sold on Irving especially with a strong PG class next year they could very well go big.
they need to trade both beasley and rubio and get williams.
i mean do you really want negative points. Between the jazz and the wolves if one GM could bamboozle the other it would be KOC. Kahn would probably take Jefferson back if we offered him to the wolves. Lets talk about trade value you guys got beasly for a second round pick i don't think the jazz trade the number 3 for him even in a weak draft. he doesnt fit our style of play and he isn't a high character guy
Im not sure that williams can play the small foward he hasnt in college so why is everybody stuck on him playing small foward. Do you think he will be able to keep up with the N.B.A's top small foward,is his ball handling enough to get pass small fowards, does he spread the floor well enough ( I mean when you play Pf and shoot 3s the defender plays you up, plays you half way or plays for the rebound so in college he was getting easier shots but in the league there will be a 3 playing you up at all times.
I think they should trade the number 2 pick and wayne ellington for marcus thorton and the 7th pick
because next year is a foward draft why not steal a foward and that draft even if its not the number 1 pick you can still get a 3 or 4 with upside and there will be a player who comes out of no where and rises up the board like there is every year (2011) williams (2010) wes johnson and udoh (2009) tyreke evans (2008) russel west brook so they will get a nice player . The wolves will be back in the lotto next year so they should do this.
I said the same thing about memphis drafting thabeet over harden. You see how that came back to haunt them in game 7. Patience is a virtue good things come to those who wait and the best thing to do is lock there sg postion down with an explosive scorer in marcus thorton and with the 2nd pick draft a future kevin martian in klay thompson .
when I say memphis should have waited they should have drafted a guard in a 2009 draft where there was tons of talented gaurds. In a big 2010 where there where nice bigs in the lottery. So I say the wolves should learn from the mistake of others and steal a foward next year. But if irving is on the board draft him by all means because the fact is rubio still hasnt come over so thinking he's coming over this seaon with a lock out in place is not solid ground to stand on. Fran vazquez still hasnt come over for the magic Splitter just came over for the spurs. So in conclusion its either take irving if hes on the board or trade pick.
a roster full of top 5 picks through previous drafts doesn't equal wins. they may have talent but that doesn't equal chemistry and wins. how many coaches have the wolves gone through the last couple years? maybe its a consistancy problem how can players adjust to a coach when they are bringing in a new one every year or mid season. also the year they drafted four point gaurds you trade the only one that has been productive in the league so far but maybe he was productive because he was away from the dysfunction that is the minnesota timberwolves.
You raise a good point lukestinte13, I honestly think the T'Wolves' problems stem from bad coaching. I'd be more worried about what to do with Rambis than the 2nd overall pick.
Oky. Listen when a player is a top 5 pick he is TALENTED what are you saying. ??
But this is a team full of players that want to win. Love is tired of losing. And Rubio and Kanter both played in Euroleague at a young age.Rubio played in ACB and EuroFinal Four many times. he know how to play in top competetion games. Rubio will be a huge player for us next season. He too will be a huge upgrade from Luke Ridnour with his nice passing and great court vision. And for a team that has to do alot of off-ball movement Rubio will really help the timberwolves offense. Ridnour tended to shoot a lil too much but, on a team with not alot of offensive fire power. Ridnour did the best he could. Enes Kanter is a way better offensive C compared too Darkio Milc. Darkio is only good for defense and cause of that he will be great to come off the bench. This will all work out better for us If we trade Beasly. We have too Williams and Kanter is are guys and we should go with em.
I don't agree with trading Beasly, he's too rare an offensive talent. He has the potential to be a good enough defender and some times suffers from lack of focus or dicipline, but I thinks that's something a good head coach can get out of him, and head coach needs to be a top priority for the Wolves.
Some of the lineups I've seen above don't have enough offensive firepower. Beasly has a rare ability to create his own shot at will, he has a shooting guards mentality and he proved to be a great 4th quarter and clutch player for the Wolves last year and I've seen throughout the playoffs that having a closer or a guy to turn to in late game situations is very valuable and I don't think DWilliams has that same gift, and I believe Beasly's potential is higher than DWilliams, although DWilliams will be a productive all around player.
If the Wolves trade Beasly they would lose their best pure offensive talent. Love is an awsome player but I don't think he's a natural scorer that you can go to down the stretch of games and let him create his own shot...he's not that type of player yet and I don't think DWilliams is either, this is why need to keep Beasly.
(not saying the Wolves shouldn't take DWillaims #2, or that he can't somehow fit in our lineup with Beasly, but I don't think that trading Beasly will be a good move...Beasly is worth keeping.)
I agree with BBallforlife on this.. beasely is too much of a offensive talent on a team so completely devoid of offensive weapons.. and a team who won less than 20 games last year shouldn't get rid of one of it's most talented players no matter what position he plays.. rotate beasely love williams randolph through sf pf c (all can play atleast 2 of these positions more effectively than anyone else on the team).. sign a sg in free agency (nick young, jr smith, aaron afflalo, thornton) all of which are young, talented, and productive.. some scoring help would be cool.. maybe a center too....
rubio, flynn, ridnour
wes or some f/a, ellington
beasely, williams,
love, williams, randolph
randolph, darko
I say randolph at center because it's become to painful for me to watch the darko pekovic rotation anymore.. darko is slow, ineffective and inconsistent.. and pekovic is about as coordinated as any pedestrian 2 year old.. randolph has the length and athleticism to hold his own.. i mean we won less than 20 games last year.. it won't hurt us that much to have our center be a little small.. plus he's just so energetic and exciting to watch

The Timberwolves have the Second Pick in the Draft.
We already know Irving is going to be the First Pick and will go to the Cavs
Then all is left is Derrick Williams. We wont and cant have Williams and Beasly together. We can only have 1.
So , lets trade Beasly . he doesnt post up . and all he wants to do is pull up wack jumpers. And he doesnt play good defense. At all
Williams likes to attack the basket and post up. Something Beasly doesnt try to do. Williams has a good motor . And all he has to do is work on his cardio and bulk up so he can go against NBA Centers and Power Forwards when he attack the rim . He plays hard on both ends of the court. So expect him to play defense.
So we select Williams and trade Beasly to a team where we can get another top pick to draft Enes Kanter. Or we trade him for a veteran Big Man. I say we trade him to the Jazz and take thier 3rd pick. They need a SF anyway so why not. He is young and can probably be they second leading scorer behind Al Jefferson. Jazz dont even need Enes Kanter they have Paul Milsap,Al Jefferson starting and Favors and Okur coming off the bench. AK47 Kirlenko cant be they starter forever. They need a young player that can resign with them next season.
My Idea: So we trade Beasly for the Jazz third Pick. This will be another 2009 draft. But, we will have two top 3 picks.
And this time we will select a SF,and C.
So with the Jazz we select Enes Kanter. Why i say we draft Enes Kanter cause no top FA is gonna sign with us espically the top Centers available. Not when the Heat and Knicks need big men.
Enes Kanter has a 7-1 wingspain. He can knock down shots from anywhere on the court. He will be a great add too are front court with Kevin Love and he will be a better upgrade at the Center position then Darkio Milc . And with Darkio we have a solid defensive big man coming off the bench for Enes Kanter. He too also plays aggresive . With the addition of Williams and Kanter we will bring in hard working and defensive players that can score on a nightly bases
But we still will have to trade Johnny Flynn.
Rotation:
1.Ricky Rubio,Luke Ridnour
2.Wesly Johnson,Wayne Ellington
3.Derrick Williams, Martell Webster
4.Kevin Love, Anthony Randolf
5.Enes Kanter, Darkio Milic
this is a way better team from last year we just need players to sink in with each other . Ricky Rubio will be the guy that will mostly bring the team together. Cause of his playmaker court vision
Remeber Flynn must be traded too.
THis all can work so plzz wolves fans dont disrespect this idea that can be what David Kahn is really thinking of doing. Cause he knows no top FA will sign with us. We must make are team through the draft. Also we have the 20th pick we might trade it to jazz with Beasly but of not Chris Singlton would be a nice choice so Martell Webster can mostly play the SG spot.
