Oly04Participantheard a lot about the jazz and cavs trade. as a jazz fan I would not trade favors he will end up being a an all star and on many defensive all nba teams. so here is my idea on a great trade for everyone involved.
Jazz receive #1 pick
cavs recieve #5 pick a future first round pick and Larry sanders
bucks receive Kanter and pick #35jazz get to take either Parker or Wiggins. Cavs get there athletic center and still a top 5 pick. Bucks get a really good young center who can score inside and out.
tell me what you think.0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/20/2014 - 10:09am #922987
kgasc736ParticipantNot a good trade idea at all, no way the Bucks give up the #2 pick for Kanter and 35..this is a joke right?

juves4783Participanti don’t think anyone wants larry sanders especially after the news, he’s going to rehab. that’s a big contract for someone with off the court and injury history. cavs would probably rather just have favors and nix bucks from your proposal.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI just tried that trade on ESPN’s trade machine and it doesn’t work salary wise. I like the idea but the Cavs would need to offer the Jazz probably Spencer Hawes in order to make it work salary wise. If you’re the Jazz you do it in a heart beat. Hawes is better than Kanter, you still get #1 pick (Parker), and you get to keep Favors who would probably work well next to Hawes. And you get to keep the 23rd pick, (which they would probably use to get CJ Wilcox as legitamate backup to Burks) The Bucks you definitely would do it, they get a young center who so far isn’t injury prone. Kanter can mix it up inside and outside and it looks he would work out well with Henson down low. Plus they would get 3 early second round picks!! (Their own 31, the 35th from the Jazz and they keep the 36th pick. (which they have from the Lakers via the Wolves.)
The Cavs though, I’m not so sure they would do it. Without Hawes, the Cavs are left with Varejao and Zeller as their big men. Sanders is a good compensation if Embiid doesn’t fall to the 5th pick but Sanders is hurt just like Embiid is right now. Sanders is definitely no Embiid when both are healthy. And if he’s not healthy then the Cavs have a young Center in Zeller who is a career backup and a 32 year-old Varejao who is looking like a shell of himself. Sanders not being healthy definitely doesn’t solve the Cavs problem down low. At the 5th pick you have the option of power forwards Vonleh, Randle and Gordon, and PG’s Exum, Smart, with the possibility of Embiid if he slips. With this scenario, you have to hope Embiid slips. The Cavs can’t go with a 4 since they already have Thompson there, and nor would they go with a PG since Irving is already their PG. Exum can play the 2 and would probably work next to Irving but Waiters is already playing next to Irving and he isn’t looking to bad himself. (Now if only Waiters and Irving can get along, which shouldn’t be too bad now that the relationship between Irving and Waiters will be new coach Blatt’s #1 proiority) Embiid slipping would be the best case scenario for the Cavs. And its not 100% that Embiid slips to 5. He could very well be taken by Philly or Orlando. If Embiid doesn’t slip then the Cavs would have to take Gordon at 5. He would have to play the 3 with the Cavs, and who knows if that will work. So again, Cavs will only do this if they are absolutely 100% certain that Embiid will be available at 5

juves4783Participantguess espn trade machine doesn’t take into account that spencer hawes in an unrestricted free agent now…

Bfree24ParticipantIt is not a bad trade, but i think its too complicated to try to add sanders and the bucks. I dont think cleveland is willing to move down 4 spots for a big contract and very questionable person, even if he is a good player. If Utah doesnt want to lose Favors, then Kanter the number 5 and number 23 is more of a likely deal. Not sure who says no to that. 23 has some nice value in this draft, possibly produce Warren/Ennis/GRIII. Not a bad addition

CodySLCParticipantJazz recieve the 2nd pick and take a chance on the talented but troubled Larry Sanders (yes i’m aware he’s going to rehab) in exchange for Derrick Favors and the 5th pick. That’s the rumor going around Salt Lake right now.

Captain LParticipantWe don’t want Sanders but getting either Wiggins or Parker would probably be worth it. The Jazz would have to believe that Parker or Wiggins are Franchise players to build around and then and only then would I give up on Favors.

jazznationpresidentParticipantIf I’m the bucks or cavs, no way I trade with Utah except for Favors. Favors is the most proven part of Utah and the most likely to be an all-star. He really isn’t that far from it, especially in the east, I give it 1-2 years max. That’s worth a lot more than "expected" talent. The problem is that the bucks have the same issue the Jazz have, they have to draft talent. Why trade a future top star for an all star? I don’t get it… I think the Cavs are more ready for a trade like this than the Bucks, they have a more complete team and adding Favors and #5 I thinks makes them an eastern contender and 1-2 pieces from championship caliber.
time will tell, lots of wheeling and dealing going on right now…
