This idea has just come to my mind while watching last night’s Celtics vs Pistons.

The Pistons are in a very good position right now to fight for a playoff spot. The idea of signing an open 4 (Ilyasova) to pair with Drummond makes the best of the senses, but I don’t know if it is just me or a common thought that he’s underachieving.

Starting off with this analysis, I was thinking about possible open 4s in the league and one name popped: Ryan Anderson. A Pistons’ lineup with Ryan Anderson makes them extremely dangerous. If a team doubles Drummond, Ryan is going to be lethal and if by chance he misses, well we know Drummond can rebound some balls…

The thing is that Ryan Anderson will space the floor even more for Andre and the outside threat would be scary.

Maybe Ilyasova+Jennings (Pistons don’t need him) for Ryan Anderson.

The Pelicans do not need another PG that can’t stay healthy, and there is no way that Illyasova is an upgrade over Anderson.  The Pels need to have 10-15 games with all players healthy to see what they have.

If Detroit is looking for a buyer for Jennings, I’d look at Utah. They have Neto and Burke (inexperienced, not playing that well) as well as Exum (out for a year). They are also in contention for a low playoff seed, which I think they should go for (I promote winning over going for a better draft pick). They could work a trade around Booker and/or Pleiss for the one year of Jennings, hoping he can return to form and help them get into playoffs. Then he’s gone and Exum/Burke can take that spot as they are older and more experienced.

the thing is the pistons problem isnt their outside shooting at all. It’s when drummond gets hacked and needs to be taken out of the game.. Dont get me wrong, i think he was a steal of a signing, but baynes just cant handle the entire load defensively while drummond is out. if they were to go for any sort of trade the first thing they should look for is a better defensive backup for andre.

WITH BLEDSOE GOING DOWN I AM SURPRISED NO ONE SAID JENNINGS FOR MARKIEFF….. FROM WHAT I READ SVG WILL SEE HOW JENNINGS AND JACKSON PLAY TOGETHER IN THE BACKCOURT. JENNINGS JUST STARTED TO PLAY WELL BEFORE INJURY LAST SEASON….I DONT THINK THEY ARE READY TO GIVE UP ON HIM YET

Pistons need another stretch 4. I personally think brandon jennings will buy into the 6th man role.  But Ilyasova is the odd man out.  He doesn’t produce enough, especially in crunch time. Like the previous poster stated, I wouldn’t mind Ryan Anderson, but not at the cost of Jennings. If we can ppackage Ilyasova, a third team  we would be fine. Joe Johnson and Andrea Bargani would be good additions. Bargani would be good as a floor stretcher, and a solution for the "hack a drummond" technique. Joe Johnson would be good as the 2  man off the bench along with meeks, and Stanely Johnson.
