prophetmeirParticipantPhil and okc
Serge Ibaka for young and turner
Okc is playing well but they get anthor guy either starting or coming of the bench to really help with the second unit mature . Phil gets a young powerforward to grow with Noel and carter Williams that can stretch the floor . Phil probably wouldn’t do it because of cap but from talent would make since .

DondiJohnParticipantYou said: "Phil probably wouldn’t do it because of cap but from talent would make since" (*sense). Really? Philly wouldnt do it? I think it should be OKC saying NO!
OKC’s playing great, number 2 in defensive efficiency and number 4 in offensive efficiency. Removing Serge Ibaka, arguably their best defensive player for 2 players who dont know a lick about defense is atrocious. Who would anchor their defense? Offensive wise, Serge Ibaka is a decent 3rd or 4th option for the Thunder. He’s one of the few defensive bigmen that has a decent jumpshot

Sewok15ParticipantI agree with most of what you said outside of Thad Young not knowing a lick about defense. He clearly isn’t Serge Ibaka but he does a nice job defensively for an undersized 4. He doesn’t block many shots but he does a good job rotating and takes a lot of charges. He comes up with a good amount of steals and can run the floor with any PF in the league. He will also put up 16 a game without having to run a play for him. He is an underrated player who will have decent value if they decide to move him.
Now if I were OKC I still wouldn’t make this trade beacuse Ibaka is a big part of why they have been successful. He is a better midrange shooter than Thad and one of the premier shot blockers in the game. He is young and getting better yet as well which can’t be said for Thad. Turner is getting better but he is benefitting from the lack of scoring options the Sixers have and I don’t know how much better he will get either.
Even if Philly would throw in the first round pick they got from New Orleans I still would avoid this deal as OKC. Turner will be a free agent after the season and OKC is already a title contender without making a big deal to shake things up.

prophetmeirParticipantI think Jackson leaves , keeping turner would help that

TyroberParticipantGuys who don’t need the ball to be super effective are becoming very rare in the NBA and that’s why I love Ibaka. He plays hard every night and is still improving. Turner doesn’t give the Thunder anything Jackson or Lamb can’t anyway and I don’t know why Philly would want Ibaka next to Noel either.
