Simple game, I throw out some trade proposals and you say yes or no for each team. Nothing too crazy, just a player for a pick.

Minnesota #1 pick for DeMarcus Cousins

Lakers #2 pick for Giannis Antetekumpo

Knicks #4 pick for Derrick Favors

Magic #5 pick for Hassan Whiteside

Kings #6 pick for Jrue Holiday

Nuggets #7 pick for Eric Bledsoe

Pistons #8 pick for Jonas Valacunias

Hornets #9 pick for Eric Gordon

    If I was the GM:

Minnesota: Yes.  DMC may leave as the organisation was rubbish for years.

Lakers: Yes.  Give up a potential all-star for a guy who looks like he’ll make it there in a few more years.

Knicks: No.  Favors is good, but not that good.

Magic: No.  Will slide Vucevic over to PF, but could also draft WCS and get a Whiteside variation with more potential.

Kings: No.  Jrue Holiday isn’t worth the 6th pick.  Maybe a few yrs ago when he was traded for Noel and an all-star, but on current form, nope.

Nuggets: Yes.  Bledsoe and Lawson.  MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Pistons: No,  They have Drummond as their cornerstone.

Hornets: Yes.  The Hornets need some more offense.

I’m not exactly sure why I got so many negs? I think all these would be cause for consideration. Hate to say it but the facts are drafting in the lotto can be a crapshoot, you could hit a homerun and land Steph Curry our you could wiff and land a Joe Alexander. All these players are proven they can play and contribute and are fairly young. I’m not saying I’d do all these but getting someone you know can play is a good way to use a draft pick.

Also was curious if you’d do the deal for the other team, say if you were Sac would you trade Cousins for #1 pick

Sac would keep Cousins.  They should trade him for Towns (plus try and get back another piece)

Bucks would and should keep Giannis.

Jazz would and should keep Favors.

Heat would and should trade Whiteside. (Sell high)

Pels and Holiday is a no brainer. Tyreke and Gordon can play 1/2.

Suns should and will keep Bledsoe. They dumped Dragic for him.

Toronto should and will keep Jonas. Won’t get a player with his level for age ability here.

Pels (see #6 pick). If they draft Johnson and Winslow, then Tyreke, Johnson, Winslow, Anderson, Davis will work. But they need to draft guys who are NBA ready defensively, and will grow into solid offensive contributors. WCS, Booker and possibly Hezonja would work here also. I do feel that Pels have a Minnesota 2000-2003 vibe. Davis is going to ball like KG and them some, but they need to start finding the best teammates for him.

#1 No, DMC may be a proven top notch player but I don’t like his attitude / history, I’d take Towns
#2 No, I love Giannis but Okafur is what they need and a possible franchise level big.
#4 Noway the Jazz would do that,
#5 I don’t see the Heat giving up on Whiteside, he is a big time rim protector,
#6 No , but more ify to me, WCS is the rim protector SAC needs.
#7 Yes , Bledsoe is a proven commodity.
    #8 No, Pistions need a 4 not a 5.
#9 Yes, but Gordon’s health is a question, he is a proven high quality player though.

Pistons 8th pick to the Suns for TJ Warren and Goodwin ? (they didn’t play either much last season)

Orlando send the 5th pick and Aaron Gordon to Minnesota for the 1st overall pick ? (Minn – Rubio, Wiggins, Winslow, Gordon, Dieng with Lavine and Bazz off the bench) Orlando – Payton, Dipo, Harris (resigned) Towns, Vucevic

The Suns would say yes in a heartbeat, I liked Warren and sorta liked Goodwin coming out, but those guys haven’t showed anything if they’re any good or not, plus I never viewed them as lotto picks. might as well keep the pick, there are some guys I like that will be available at 8.

Unless Minnesota thinks Winslow is the best player and really think Gordon can be some sort of hybrid Kirelinko/Griffin player, not going to do that trade

If we are throwing out crazy trade ideas, what about a 3 way.

    Knicks get Lawson and Faried

Nugs get 2nd pick and Tim Hardaway JR.

Lakers get 4th pick and 7th pick.

Knicks give up the 4th pick and Tim Hardaway Jr, and pick up Lawson and Faried.  They come out HUGE winners in this trade.  Get a guy who is a great PG, solid shooter, and a high energy rebounding beast.

Nuggets give up Lawson and Faried and get 2nd Pick and Tim Hardaway Jr.  They select Russell.  I think they lose out here.  Lawson is a solid player and Faried is a great high energy guy.  Tim Hardaway is a solid bench player, potentially a starter in the league, but I think this could be one of those 4 yr down the road trades where everyone just laughs at what kind of a steal Denver got, ala Kobe ’96.

Lakers give up 2nd pick and get 4th and 7th pick.  So give up Okafor, get Mudiay and Hezonja (or Winslow and Johnson).  I think this is a good deal.  Lottery is still a crapshoot, and Lakers are getting another bite at the cherry.

I never negged you. this are the reasons I don’t like you Ideas. Just my opinion.

Minnesota #1 pick for DeMarcus Cousins

-No from Sac because he has proven himself as an all-star and he is locked in to a long term contract. the no.1 pick may or may not be better.

Lakers #2 pick for Giannis Antetekumpo

——No from the Lakers as a Potential franchise Big man could come from this pick. Giannis has shown Potential but just not enough yet.

Knicks #4 pick for Derrick Favors.

—–I don’t think Favors would be a good fit in NY. He was just given a extension and the 4th pick would give them a player on a rookie contract with the extra money to be used to target Free Agents

Magic #5 pick for Hassan Whiteside

——No from the Magic. Hassan Whiteside only has one year left before he is going to get paid big. A rookie such as WCS could bring the same thing for cheaper and longer.

Kings #6 pick for Jrue Holiday.

——Holidays numbers aren’t all that much better than Darren Collisons numbers. There is still a lot of value with the 6th pick. Holiday isn’t going to get the Kings to the Playoffs.

Nuggets #7 pick for Eric Bledsoe

——Eric Bledsoe has more value in my opinion unless a prospect falls that wasn’t expected.

Pistons #8 pick for Jonas Valacunias

——Why would the Pistons want Valacunias when they have Drummond? They need a 3

Hornets #9 pick for Eric Gordon

——Hornets need a good shooting 3. Eric Gordon is a risk due to his injuries he has sustained over the last few years.
