OhCanada-ParticipantThe 2016-2017 has been a rollercoaster ride for the Raptors and thier fans. Totonto started the first qaurter of the season with the best offensive effeciency in the league (even better than GSW, at that time). Although as time went on teams adjusted and thier defence was exposed. Losing Biyombo hurt them alot and when Patterson and Derozan went down with injuries during a bad stretch Toronto went 10-16 in 26 games. 3-5 with Derozan out and 3-6 with Patterson out collectively.
Aqcuiring Ibaka and Tucker inspired hope for us but then Lowry comes back from Allstar requiring surgery. Since then Tucker has really changed the identity of this team and the mentality of its players.
With all this being said Toronto is still going to win 50 games this year.
We beat Boston with Lowry out.
We went 1-1 against Washington which won us the season series.
Toronto has won 6 games straight and Demar Derozan has become somewhat of a weapon defensively.
Lowry was seen dribbling with his injured hand and shooting with his off hand. As long as he comes back on schedule and we get a healthy team going into postseason play Toronti will win the East this year.
I understand the general response will be im a bias Raptors fan that cant see things clearly but I have never said the Raptors would win the East before. Not back in the Bosh days, not last year. This teams gonna do it. Im not as confident predicting they beat the Warriors or Spurs but Im positive we have the East wrapped up if healthy.

Hacker90ParticipantI love the addition of Ibaka and Tucker to the team. You mention y’all beat the Celtics without Lowry and went 1-1 against Washington to win that regular season series, but what is the Raptors record against the Cavs this year? I know the Cavs are on a slump recently but aren’t the Raptors 0-3 against the Cavs this year?

OhCanada-ParticipantCant wait to see Lebron flopping all over the court like a penguin with a learning disability sliding on Jell’O when hes gaurded by Tucker. Wooo baby I cant wait!
We play them soon it should be fun.
The refs respect Tucker all around the league. He gets away with stuff some players would get called a flagrant for.

HitsterParticipantThe Raptors made the Conference Finals last season and if they get Lowry and playing as well as he had been doing this season then they will be in the mix again. I think they will certainly win their first round play off match and who they meet in the semi finals could well depend on whether they reach the conference final. If it’s Washington, I’d fancy them to edge it, Boston will be very tight but Cavs might be a bit of a stretch as LBJ will play major minutes and the Cavs have loads of depth.
Toronto could win Eastern Conference title and make a first Finals appearance but it would be a stretch to see them overcome say GSW or Spurs.

BasterdInABasketParticipantParity. Love it. LAst year seemed like a forgone conclusion that it would be CLE-GS its looking more and more possible it could turn out differently this year. While another rematch is probably most likely, TOR, BOS and SA all have a realistic shot at making it.
Kind of sad an excitable amount of parity includes only 5 possible Finals teams but I’ll take it I guess.

esperanzafleet69Participanti think the more appropriate title should be "contenders for the east". derozan has had one hell of a season, but theres still no way i can see them beating san antonio or the warriors..
